Does Frame Gen work for RTX 30 cards?
Hey guys, I got a laptop gpu RTX 3080 Ti and the game doesn't let me enable frame generation. Already looked at a thousand forums and I do have hardware accelerated gpu scheduling enabled. The weird thing for me is that, I had access to frame gen in God of War Ragnarok for PC and that game released BEFORE Jedi Survivor on Playstation. So technically God of War is older than Jedi Survivor (it did release this year for PC, yes, but the game is older) and yet I can use frame gen in an older game, but not in the Star Wars game??? I have access to frame gen in other games too, such as Warhammer 40k: Darktide. What the hell is EA ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up again, cuz nothing ever seems to work when games published by them are concerned. Even the Dead Space Remake ran like trash to me too. Someone said you can enable frame gen in Jedi Survivor, if you have a RTX 40 card, but the game doesn't state that anywhere, so I'm not sure what to do really...

Frame Gen DLSS only work for 40 series cards. GoW Ragnarok has AMD's FSR frame gen, which works with any card, that's what you're using in that game, not DLSS frame gen.

The 30 series doesn't have the hardware required to make DLSS Frame Generation work properly hence it's not an option. I remember reading it uses the 40 series Optical Flow Accelerator which is vastly superior to equivalent found on the 30 series.

Yes it does, with a mod you can. Download latest version, copy files to where jedisurvivor.exe is and then the framegen option will be active. - https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/738

But is it stable? Usually when mods are involved, so are crashes and instability.
And last year when I was playing the game was crashing 3 hours in, so far since I've started playing it again from the start I have had 0 crashes or bugs, but knowing that EA was a part of this doesn't give me much hope.

If this mod actually works and it stable, I might use it.
I actually have lossless scaling from Steam, tried that and it runs smooth, until it starts seriously dropping the frame rate down to like 30 fps and gets very choppy and has lag spikes too that are frequent. So if this mod is goingg to be similar to lossless scaling, I'll pass, but I will at the very least give it a try. Thank you for the information!

on my system it works well, just try it. If you dont like it or it runs bad for you just turn off framegen. It works way way better than lossless scaling.

Just tried it actually. I gotta say it's weird... at first it made everything super blurry or like my screen was tearing. So I have to adjust graphical settings with frame gen off and then when I'm done tweaking then turn it on and it doesn't behave weirdly. Didn't change much to be honest. I was hoping I could play this game AT THE VERY LEAST in my native resolution 2560x1440, but still forced to play with nivida dlss enabled on quality and also downscale things to 1920x1080 resolution to get 80 fps + low settings except textures. And with frame gen it goes up to 120 fps, so it is a boost, but I still play on basically the lowest settings.
Guess I'll take it, hope it doesn't cause more crashes or anything. Thanks for the help.

Use DLSS Balanced and make sure to use latest nvidia drivers. They use a better preset for dlss (also download DLSS SWAPPER and change the game dlss to dlss 3.8, it will IMPROVE A LOT in quality and fps a bit). After you turn on framegen and tweak settings restart game. I have the same behavior when turning on HDR for example. It goes from 90+ fps to 50, after restart its back on stable 90+
