Yep, they made money from it. There is a deficit of single player Star Wars games and people buy any crap. I bought the game 2 months after release, knowing verry well that the game performs badly and has bugs. But I still bought it when Steam offered 25% off ... it's a broken game from technical point of view but I had my fun with it.
looking forward to it
I know I once again wont be pre-ordering or even purchasing with out trying it out 1st, this is huge for me. I normally pre-order everything and I am a huge Star Wars fan.
To be honest this makes me very sad.
It is only a scam if they dont intend to fix it.
The made their money from the Star Wars brand (This has a massive audience)
And
Those that are not playing at high enough settings with RTX ON that are not so but sore.
Believing that the game is not broken and telling every one so.
Dont forget those people are used to playing at 30FPS that can push on through and can deal with it. (I played 120+ hours but there is no way in hell I would have paid for it)
EA has a BAD rep and have recently walked away from another big hit AAA game leaving it in a mess. While this is another studio that made the game and EA are only the publishers it is still a possibility.
They claim to still be fixing it so time will tell if it a scam or not
Also EA can suck a extremely Large Pineapple Mix drink.
I decided to buy the game after all because even though i stopped buying EA, game was good, people i know said it's a really good game and then it went on sale.
That being said i'm not having technical issues so far, i chose not to have ray tracing that may help, except for crashes.
As terrible as the performance and stability is, there's no way to know for sure exactly why it was released like that, and worse - why it's still not fixed.
It's not necessarily one cohesive conspiracy to hurt the consumer. More than likely, it's about a multitude of things and the inertia of bad decisions and financial considerations.
To me, it seems they stretched the engine beyond its capacity without implementing a proper way of streaming assets. Maybe it's next to impossible to achieve without a major engine restructure - which would never be financed by the suits. So, they could be trying desperately to patch flaws - and simply not know how to go about it.
On the other hand, it could be sheer incompetence and not really being interested in the endgame in terms of reputation.
They managed to get the critics to claim it's next to a masterpiece - so initial sales have been strong, at least on consoles.
On PC, going by Steam reviews, it's less of a success - but obviously enough to warrant yet another sequel.
All we can do is learn from it - and stop buying games until they're 100% confirmed as optimized and stable within reason.
We don't have to experience this kind of frustration. All we need is a little patience and the problem will solve itself.
Correct couldn't agree more. If people were to be more careful with their money, then the board of directors will not be happy with sales. they want to know why, hopefully helping them to make better decisions relating to product quality.
I love Star Wars and this game is fantastic aside from the performance woe's.
I dont want to play with RTX OFF it looks like brown stinky nuggets.
Is money all that matters?
Respawn are on record as refusing extra time to finish the game. EA offered them an extension and they say, “Nah, it’ll e fine”
