Can I use nexus mod manager on the GamePass version of this game? Or does it only work on the steam version?

People have been saying that game pass versions of games hide some files and encrypt them but I'm not sure.

Except GamePass versions of games are coded differently. This I found out while playing a GP version of a game I got free access to for a set amount of time with a GPU I bought. The game wouldn't work with ShadowPlay (I'm aware some don't irrespective of GP), and when I searched for why I discovered GP games are not coded the same. I fact checked and found it to be true.

So I wouldn't bet it's as easy as pointing to the right install directory.
