I got the update too and was wondering the same question

It's just an update for the EA launcher. Happens fairly frequently. I wouldn't hold out hope for more patches.

If you have Steam update shader cache, many games have little updates that aren't game updates but shader updates when new video drivers and hardware are released. Steam will share shader caches between users with the same video drivers and hardware.

Much of the time, it doesn't increase performance because PCs are so much faster than when Steam implemented the feature and because many games do their own cache building every time. If you have that Steam feature on with a decent computer, turn it off.
