controls are bad
playing with keyboard and mouse and the boss combat is impossible. the character wont do what you want its really bad pressing the keys in most cases doesn't do anything you just get hit and die the game doesn't seem to recognise some inputs in combat like dodge.

mate, take a breath in - hold (1,2,3) - and breathe out. Now shake out your hands, your arms, your shoulders and reset, ok? Now let's look at your post. I hear ya, it gets frustrating when game controls don't do what you want them to do but hang in there, you'll get through it. Yell at your monitor, yell at your keyboard that's what I do when I have one of those days (and if there are little ones around, yell silently).

Edit: hey mate, hope you're doing well. Listen, was it the first boss? Cause after the cut scene I couldn't attack with my weapons. I could block, dodge and use the force but my RMB wouldn't attack - drove me nuts. Got em in the end tho hehehe.

yes the key controls are a bit sluggish.just learn to not panic like i have a bad habit of doing and just stay away from enemy until just the right time to attack.never go at them when they are red.
You have to learn to be way more patient, you cant attack spam in this game or weave fast attacks and dodges, which makes the game extremely one dimensional against multiple enemies. If you swing you are absolutely committed to it and you can't dodge or cancel in any way no matter how long the attack is. Also the same when you're caught by an enemy doing an onslaught of attacks, if the first hits you, it doesn't matter if you were holding block in time, if you were mid animation you will get hit, and you have to release and re-press the block button to actually have it work which is really stupid. Very limiting in the playstyle.
Well, even the devs at the very beginning warn you that controller is the best way of playing the game with.

I haven't had much problems. It does help to have some side buttons on a mouse for things like dodge. I have noticed that this game has a lot more unblockable attacks compared to the previous one.
It kind of reminds me of metal gear rising with PC controls, especially considering the emphasis on parries.
