4k should increase gpu usage and reduce cpu usage.
Im running a intel 12900 K, msi 3080 ti. At 4k everything at epic besides texture and game doesn't currently work with ray tracing at least not for me. Im in the 60-80 fps.
99% Gpu usage, 20-30% cpu usage, if ray tracing is on it will crash constantly. Try turning that off if your using it. The game recommends 1440P as well.
For some reason the game has an issue with cpu usage, I should be able to destroy it with my cpu, This last patch (4) screwed up something again as well
3700x/32gb ram/4070/1tb nvme 4th gen.
Resident evil runs great/Dead Space runs great. I know they're not really comparable, but holy hell this feels like Cyberpunk2077 or Mass Effect Andromeda all over again.
That sounds like an issue with your configuration. Make sure you close all other apps on your computer and then see where CPU use is. It's weird you'd be CPU limited before the GPU in this game unless there is something else running or interfering with the game...
It can also be the program you are using to monitor the game is bugged.
Other general suggestions:
BIGGEST: Make sure your Windows copy is up to date and your GPU drivers.
1. Remember this game runs on Windows 10 and higher, it does not support Windows 7 or any of those modded versions that got "DX12" through a mod.
2. That said, DX12 games should not be ran in fullscreen use fullscreen windowed or windowed mode.
3. Shadows and Reflections in games still use CPU for calculation. No idea about the floating point performance of that CPU, but setting those lower generally help with CPU bottlenecks
4. Post your full specs
Note: one possibility is that your CPU is at a low clock speed, probably even lower than base. Only you know how to see your clock speed and what settings you put on your PC.
That's it. There won't be any significant patches for Survivor anymore. Time to upgrade PC.
