What's your preferred stance for grandmaster?
The dual wield seems to work well if you don't mind being the total lack of defense, but what do you guys use?

After just finishing the main storyline, I'm left wondering and wishing that they hadn't limited your available stances to just two. Makes no sense to me. Once learned, my preference would be able to pick from any of them via a wheel or cycle through, and not have to pick two from a meditation circle or workbench. There were a lot of situations that if I had known what was coming, I would have picked a stance I didn't already have active. This mostly forced me to kind of get locked in on a couple stances throughout the game, just because I got used to them and the moves. If I could have chosen among any of them at any time, I would probably have had more fun in combat just trying different things out more. Just my $.02.
I will have to agree that it makes no sense that single blade, dual wielding and double blade stance can't be equiped at the same time when he literally see Cal connecting and disconnecting the lightsabers when changing between single blade and double blade/dual wielding.

There is a mod that allows you to use all 5 stances at once

I dual wielded my entire grand master playthrough and I wouldn't really recommend it.

The only good thing about it is that you can block cancel out of some of your animations, but on grandmaster difficulty that isn't much help. You still can't dodge cancel out of any animations, and enemies spam unblockables so much on grandmaster you're still going to get screwed committing to any attacks close range.

Blaster stance is the way to go, with double blade to deal with enemy blaster spam.

You can always just press block and then dodge in quick succession for a dodge cancel.
The single and darth maul style are the best ones and have the most moves and skills

dual weild is useless, the other two does everything it does and better, the force parry is useless and the auto dodge skill you can get is better than that so you can avoid unblockable attacks

Crossguard is just dumb, only good move is the lightsaber throw, animations don't look natural either

blaster stance is over powered but fun to use the fencing style pokes make it faster than the duel wield making that stance even more useless, the charged shot and quick draw are the only skills worth having but make the game easy even on grandmaster

I wouldnt say dual wield is useless however i agree the skill tree for it sucks out side the deflect. But i find it much easier to parry with dual wield than the rest so i feel it's good for people that the best at parrying. I do however think the double blade is harder to pull over skills at times without getting hit. Tho i agree with everything else.
single blade only
Definitely Crossguard, favorite stance for sure.. Sure from a lore perspective it might be silly, but from a game play perspective it was great!
I beat the game on GM using crossguard only

You clearly didn't experiement with crossguard... It has far more "good moves" then you seem to think.

The only "good" thing you mentioned is what makes it god tier. You can commit going 100% offense and have a way out of every charge attack in an instant, or just parry normal attacks.

Duals are for players who want to go in and stay in the fight , once you get the parry timings down and upgrade it, you are nearly unkillable.

I agree that dual blades allow for the most aggressive "berserker" style gameplay due to cancelling options with that stance.
It probably has the highest skill ceiling, and is most likely from an objective standpoint the "best stance" due to cancelling alone...

I prefer crossguard to basically everything though, I like being able to stunlock most enemies till they die or get thrown back so far I can't keep the combo going (on GM)...

It doesn't make much of a difference. It really only means you can safely attack first and get a couple of free hits before the enemy parry's you and forces you to defend. That's literally all the stance does well. Beyond that it has no range, no aerials and no strong attacks.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the stance because it's probably the only one that forces you to learn parry/dodge timings if you want to win, which makes for more fun and dynamic fights. Most of the other stances are stronger, though.

I used single blade 95% of the time. Seemed the most elegant and less frantic when fighting bosses. Bread and butter fighting is always the simplest for these kinds of games. Somehow didn't bother with any special skills except lightsaber throw. Double bladed and dual blades are a bit too messy for me. Looked like a lot of reckless swinging and spinning. Crossguard is too slow and gives enemies room to attack before your attack lands. On grandmaster it can be very punishing to mistime. Only wish the single lightsaber throw was similar to fallen order's so you're not open to attacks after the throw.

I used double bladed for my second stance almost always due to the high utility of multi blaster deflects. Special mention to its use in Rayvis' boss fight. It's a lot of free damage when he shoots his blaster and it also staggers him out of his shooting charge in phase 2.

I used crossguard when I specifically went bounty hunter hunting. The charged deflect for crossguard is very useful for blaster shooting/spammy enemies that are also blaster deflect tanky/dodgy. Like the B2 droids, droidekas, bounty hunter gunslingers and bounty hunter shield guys.

Blaster for double frog and rancor.
I loved dual wield but felt like I was relying on the block cancel ability way too much so ended up switching to single blade for more of a challenge.
