Game worth buying a Steam Key for?
I want to play the game, and usually when others have problems with ports I never do. However, this has been called the worst port in a LONG time, and I don't want to buy it and it doesn't work. I have a high-end PC, so for those of you who also have one, how's the performance now?

Can you post the specs?

People with similar specs would be able to tell.

My experience: it runs like sh!t, especially on Koboh (the first open planet). Some area could get as low as 30fps. Stutters like hell.

Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 9 5900x
GPU: AMD 7900 xtx
RAM: 64gb DDR4
Storage: NVMe M.2 SSD (Gen 4)

We have similar performance but yours is slightly better than mine. I have a 12700K, 4090, 32gb DDR4 and the same SSD. If you’re struggling then I will, the only difference is Intel vs AMD, so maybe Intel could run better?

I don't think you can buy Steam keys for this particular title.

Sorry, I meant the "Origin" keys. They're about $20 off for me, but obviously on ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Origin and losing the ability to refund. Doesn't the game have to go through Origin even on Steam though?

RTX 3080ti and RX 6900xt, both are playable at 2K and 4K with ray tracing disabled. My RX 6900xt build struggles greatly with ray tracing on, but with my RTX 3080ti ray tracing is playable but I only get 30 to 40 fps in hub areas and up to 70fps in close quarters at 2K or 4K. Changing the settings really doesn't make much of a difference with ray tracing enabled but with it disabled you get a good performance boost at lower resolutions.

From reading through the forum, seems like people with Nvidia + intel are having better performance after the last patch (Patch #4). People with 3080 reported much better performance. Mine, on the other hand, is still the same since launch.

Gotcha, should I go for it?

I think I'm fine without RT, so that's good to know if I need more FPS.

It IS a good game! Gameplay + Story wise.
If you're already a fan of this series, sure, go for it!

It's just the performance that is so so bad.
Your specs should be able to play 60+ fps in most areas on EPIC settings without RT. Might drop to 45fps for a few seconds on Koboh in some areas. The frame drops are not happening in every area of Koboh too.

My personal opinion: Your specs should be able to play everything maxed out + RT. The reason people suggesting you should not is telling something about this game at the current state though. But damnnnn $20 off already. I'd go for it.

Hope this helps.

Intel 12000/13000 will run it worse until a patch for DX12 is made in a Windows Update, currently not planned for next Month's Win 10 / 11 Update , likely will be pushed out to "H" edition of Windows.

EDIT: clarity

my specs are a
i7 7700k
4090
32GB of ram
Even when the performance did dip down b4 the patches to lower numbers than expected. It never once felt like low fps for some reason to me. Maybe it's how the combat is designed idk. But make sure to turn RT off 100% till they fix it. It's fine for most of the game but one Planet it makes it crash like crazy.

You'll have much lower lows then the OP will. You might as well have bought a 4070 because that's how the 4090 would be running with a 7700k.

still worth getting the 4090 to me even if im bottleneck cause of an older cpu. I had a 1080. Besides im probally gonna upgrade by end of the year. I'm just waiting to see what happens with the refresh on the raptor lake b4 i make a decsion on which cpu.
