Fighting Groups is Frustrating
I just wanted to vent a little and see what other think about this. This game tends to throw too many enemies at you at once and too many kinds of enemies as well imo. All ranged enemies can shoot at you, but some fire missles, throw grenades, have unblockable attacks and can melee you if you get close to them. Meanwhile you're probably dealing with some melee enemies at the same time, resulting in you getting shot repeatedly or blown up by a missile or grenade while blocking, parrying or trying to get your own attacks off on enemies, also meanwhile you have one or more melee enemies using an unblockable attack and a regular attack all at the same time. You don't have time react to every enemy as they attack because you're probably in the middle of an animation when more attacks happen. It just becomes frustrating and feels unfair to me. I want to feel like a jedi, not a weak little pansy that struggles in every fight and has to play passively. A way to fix this is to either allow canceling any animation with guard or adding logic to how enemies behave in combat. The Arkham Series for example prevents more than one or two enemies from attacking at once instead of letting 5-10 enemies all gang up on you at once while enemies with guns (it's been a while so correct me if I'm wrong) get to do whatever they want, but your encouraged to deal with them asap or take them down using stealth before dealing with the rest of them. Another example is the DMC series where enemies that aren't in view don't attack you at all. I think the game could benefit from changes like these, what do you guys think?

Use Starkiller. Or you'd be spending A LOT of time dashing all over the place.

I did actually, it's extremely liberating. Shame about the framerate though.

Try thinking with the Force instead of your lightsaber. Even Batman has gadgets in the Arkham series.

Howling Push will turn entire groups B1 droids in scrap ine 1-shot, as well as returning rockets and grenades to sender. You can even pull them to catch and still have a bit of time to push them back at other enemies.

Confusion is also incredibly valuable against human targets, not only does it take an enemy out of the fight and lets them fight for you, but it also splits enemy attention so you're not the one getting shot at. Upgrading all of your Force Powers trivializes group combat.

I do use the force a lot actually in many of the same ways you described including using slam and lift for some crowd control, although I admit I under utilize confusion. It really is super helpful along with BD-1's hacking ability. The problem is that your still going to get hit a lot unless you catch the enemies by surprise usually. There's also the fact that to be accurate with the force you need to use the lock-on which is slow, resulting in more hits potentially being taken. Free aiming with the force is a lot faster but you can sometimes end up targeting the wrong enemy no matter how hard you try, which messes with my strategies for each encounter. That's still very good advice though.

I should also note that I use the lightsaber switching mod which makes the game easier.

Dual wield is much better for this, you can stop movement animations and block immediately.. move around more, dont stay in one place or you'll get hit with grenades and ganged up on.. Run around and Pulse the block button on and off and most blaster attacks will deflect and kill off groups of weaker enemies using blasters on you. The unblockable attacks come with an audio que, jump and dash away or dodge. Force lift and confusion will take some enemies out of the battle for a period of time.. And you get an insane 12 stims

The main issue for me is not necessarily the variety, but the fact they don't consider each other at all. Rocket troopers will happily blow each other up in an effort to kill you and I don't even know why any of them bother with grenades.

Dual wield is so good mainly for that reason, it just makes me wish I could do that with every stance. The canceling is so useful and almost essential to me that it almost makes me just want to use that. I can't do that though due to dual wield not being ideal for every situation, which is the whole point of having multiple stances of course. Although the animation canceling of the dual wield stance being what you mainly use that stance for just feels like a ♥♥♥♥ tease for what the game could been like. I just played a short session running around koboh just fighting things (post game) and I destroyed almost every group due to me getting the jump on them. The blaster enemies seem to give me the most trouble overall, mostly the purge gunners and the gunner versions of those fast raider droids with swords. Ignore them for a few seconds and they'll start putting pressure on you pretty quickly. Maybe relying on the dual wield stance for lightsaber attacks more would be better overall, it would feel better at least. Again, good advice.

I played dual wield most of the game and it's hard giving up the ability to block immediately.. It would be interesting to see how people link the best stance to use in different situations as I dont really have any idea myself

I'm honestly okay with that because it evens the odds. It's at least 1 v 3-5 usually so it's more fair that way imo. I do think grenades are far more beneficial to the player than they are to enemies, to the point that it trivializes some encounters. Holotactics is a prime example of this, winning comes down to whether you or your opponent have access to grenades and whether you get lucky with them or they do, at least it's entertaining minus holotactics.

I'll offer some of my thoughts on stances, this is going to be long. Single very balanced and is useful in almost any situation, the only problem I have with it is that, because it's so balanced it's not as useful as another stance would be in the kind of situation it would be good for. Regardless single should never be slept on. Double bladed is best used in situations where there are a ton of blaster wielding enemies shooting you all at once, just watch you guard gauge. It hits several times per attack so it can be easily parried but if you manage to get far enough into the regular combo you will get hyper armor and can't be parried, so it can be good for groups without just blaster enemies too. Dual wield is best used against one or more fast enemies do to it's own speed and ability to animation cancel, unless you get lucky it seems like it gets parried easily. When the situation gets hectic you should whip this stance out. Blaster stance is, believe it or not, great at breaking enemies guards, you just have to weave baster attacks in with you lightsaber attacks, you be surprised how long you can attack, even with boss enemies, before you end up getting parried. It's obviously good at keeps dangerous melee enemies at bay with point black, kiting and charge shot. Oggdo beware! Crossguard is good at tearing through weak enemies, breaking guards and going to to toe with strong , but slow enemies. it's pretty unwieldy so it takes some practice to get good with, but in the right situation it dominates. It also is my go to way of dealing with droideka, reflecting a single shot back at them breaks their shield and another staggers them, leaving them open to attack. using it while keeping your distance from AT-STs and reflecting their shots back at them is the best way I have found to deal with those as well.

Another thing I would suggest for you is getting the Stance switching mod from nexus mods. It allows you to be a lot more diverse in how you can approach different situations compared to being locked to two at once. Once you start using it, it becomes essential when playing the game. Make sure to download the mod loader version of the mod, it works much better than the alternatives.
