Can't force crush

So I understood that after acquiring the ability to embrace the dark side, when the enhanced force slow is active I should be able to force crush droids by holding them up in the air with force pull, but it just won't work, no matter how long I'm holding them.

What am I missing?

You hold them up then press the button for attack, just holding them up doesn't do anything

The only part of the game where the way the Dark Force was confusing for me was when Merrin assists you on the hangar at Nova Garon. I was actually stuck wondering what to do after she prepped them, because the attack button was not responding, and there was no prompt onscreen indicating what to do.

Now that I recall though, my first playthrough was done with no onscreen prompts for a more cinematic effect, which is also why I did not know to slam the rocks at the top of the cave down as Cere when the ATs were attacking the Archives. There was too much smoke to see that they were highlighted blue. LOL
