I wonder if Nintendo is putting pressure on publishers?
Not sure what Nintendo has anything to do with this, they don't care about PC and never have. This is just EA doing some bull, flabbing around and wanting to find out.
1. You do not want that frikkin piece of garbage EA App - just uninstall it from Windows...
2. Install the latest Origin App (which still works and holds all of your EA games, also those bought from Steam. Check the webs for a DL link OR do everyting with the help of Step 3
3. Now the fun part: check the webs for "**** off EA App" - get onto their github, everything is easily explained there. **** is Foxtrott Uniform Charlie Kilo ;-)
--> Now enjoy your whatever EA Game (including SW Survivor) with normal Steam Input and your beloved controller again ;-) and ofc Overlay :-)

Yeah, I'm taking the assumption that DLLs or binaries are involved, and I would prefer to minimize supply chain vulnerabilities.
I'm not going to challenge the DMCA on a "Right to Repair" issue regarding this game. Perhaps 10 years from now when I convert this PC into a Steam Machine for "retro gaming", I might be more inclined to seek a work-around for Electronic Arts' nonsense.
Actually not, you can also tweak it yourself... It's plain uninstalling EA App, Installing last Origin App, Set Origin App to not automatically Update and put a Registry Value into the WinReg that makes Steam think that EA App is installed...
The "♥♥♥♥ off EA App" Software sets down on using an exchanged EAVersion.dll, but it is not needed (still working though). What it does is applying the settings to Origin and the Registry... Nothing else included in the software...
It did work for me, just that I had to look for the offline installer, because for some reason, Origin wa giving me an error 20:403 when I tried to install it. After installing Origin and using the F****** EA App patch, check the pretend EA App is installed and then launched Jedi Survivor, the controllers worked perfectly, even my DualShock with its layout worked.
Don't forget to check "Mimic EA App" on the installer.
