Game Not Responding to XBox Controller
Up until today, everything was working just fine with my controller, but now the game won't respond to it at all. It keeps flickering between controller and keyboard inputs, but none of the controller inputs work.

I'm having the same issue, looking forward to finding a solution. Worked just fine yesterday

Similar for me but only in Steam Link. When I launch the game it recognizes my controller as a mouse and keyboard. I've got 35 hours of the game working fine. Worked fine earlier today.

I think I found a solution for this. In the Steam client, go to Steam>settings>controller. Make sure "Enable Steam Input for XBox Controllers" is disabled. This worked for me.

Similar problem with my Steam Controller, started just today. It won't recognize the left joystick and the buttons aren't mapped correctly. Seems like it's in mouse + keyboard mode.

Same here with a Steam Controller. Disabling the XBox Controller didn't fix it for me. It worked fine after both the Steam update and the Survivor updates last week, but sometime between Sunday night and today it broke.

Only thing that seems odd is that I'm not getting the haptic sounds when using the right track pad as a mouse in Windows that it used to do. I also thought that the Windows Bluetooth & Devices recognized it as a gamepad, but it's showing up as a mouse icon.

I switched to a wireless (w/dongle) gamepad, and that worked fine. Something about "Steam Input" perhaps? Steam Controllers can't disable that, but maybe it'll help for other controllers.

Same here. Steam can recognize the controller, a generic game pad(speedlink), fine, but for some reason the game doesn't recognize any button or command EVEN THOUGH I played with it completely fine less than 10 hours ago. Getting tired/frustrated over the problems a $70 game should not have :D

Same issue here with Switch controller.

I think everything related to Steam Overlay / Steam Input was broken at some point yesterday, no idea how

Got the same problem. UI flickers between Xbox and M+K and is unplayble even though it played just fine yesterday.

Also having a similar problem. Yesterday it wasn't registering anything for me except the left joystick. When I enable steam input it worked OK, but some thing became unbound. Today when I tried to play with steam input the buttons were mapped completely wrong, A and B swapped etc, and i can't play with it disabled

Is everyone else here just playing normally on their computer? That still works fine for me, but on the Steam Link it won't be fixed no matter what controller settings I change.

Computer only. Been playing the game completely fine for 35 hours up until today.

Same issue, I tested the controller with some of my other games and it's working just fine for those, I tested via steam input as well and steam seems to recognize the controller just fine. I had been playing yesterday afternoon on my controller just fine, got off to do some work for a couple of hours, then when I got back on the controller just wasn't working. I thought it might have to do with the fact that my Switch Pro controller that I use isn't directly supported but that doesn't seem to be the issue.

It's really hard to pin down too because by all accounts the controller hardware is working just fine, the computer recognizes it, steam recognizes it, and other games recognize it. So for whatever reason the game seems to have just ♥♥♥♥ the bed and stopped recognizing people's controllers.

The other thing that might be worth noting is that I couldn't get the game to use the steam overlay at all which might be related. I tried the keyboard shortcut and it just wouldn't pull up my steam overlay at all. I might try launching via big picture mode and see if that might help but I'm not really holding my breath.
