It's not that you have an opinion, it's that you refuse to accept any opposing ones, or be content to just not use Blaster Stance. The scenes you're referring to overall are a very minute amount of what's visible onscreen in the grand scheme of things.
We're not trying to beat you down so much as ease your ADA over such a small matter that shouldn't ruin the overall experience. Not being able to see that is what makes this a toxic flame thread vs a discussion thread where opinions are shared.
Most importantly though, I wouldn't have even replied in the first place if not for your Edit Update 2 comment, where you chose to try to dictate how people should respond. It also makes it kind of crazy that you're being so defensive after trying to control responses.
Hey, if all you pay attention to is cutscenes, there's really no answer contrary to your opinion that you will accept. Like I said, that's what makes the thread look all about you, not the topic.
I get it, if you don't care about the blaster, then its brief use from time to time, is hardly noticeable. However, IF you do care... then... You Do Care... .
It's like going to a movie and coming up with a rant review because the movie itself was great, but damn those credits at the end sucked! LOL
It's the small foxes that spoil the vineyard.
It's very difficult to understand the consequences of something's inclusion when you don't care about the inclusion.
Let me try to explain it another way.
The Jedi were the "Knights" of the galaxy. Noble, true, selfless... all that crazy blarney - I like it. When I play a video game and they give me the option of using a mace or using a hatchet, and the classic-knight-wielding-long sword, and my character is a knight --- I pick the long sword (even though knights used other weapons, the romanticism always puts the noble long sword in their hands, its the badge of their knighthood). I'm a romantic (my wife likes me like that). Even if the hatchet has better stats, I still go with the long sword. Good guy sheriff's get the white hat. Bad guy outlaws get the black hat.
Through both games, Cal is a hardcore believer in trying to bring back the Jedi Order. When it is suggested he use a blaster, he objects- the game, whether you saw it or not (another person who posted here, saw it) the game fed us the notion that Cal lives for the dream of restoring the good-old-days of the Jedi Order - lightsaber wielding knights. However, Cal must accept that the good old days are gone, and he got upset, but slowly has to accept that reality.
That's me. I was enjoying the concept, the purity, the romanticism of bringing back, of being that last remnant of the true Jedi Order. When Cal had to give up on his romantic-idealistic fantasy, he wanted to quit - and I wanted to uninstall the game. The blaster usage was THE symbol, that the old ways are over. Whether it's there active a lot or not, it doesn't go away. It swings from his hip, and he uses it, each time reminding the plot, the game, and such that what we (him and I) thought this game could be, it can't.
I said I nearly uninstalled. I didn't. Neither Cal nor I quit. I finished the game.
The blaster isn't just a blaster like it is to you and nearly everyone, it's a symbol that something beautiful is over. I can't make you see the significance in something you already don't care about.
Something beautiful was ruined, but not the whole game, and I did enjoy finishing the game, even with the other code-violations (cough cough lol). And... perhaps, a more pure Jedi game will still be made.
I personally don't care (again) if you agree with my old romantic views. What I do care about is the disregard for them... hence the OP edit - it does NOT go away if you choose to not adopt that stance - just because you never cared about the blaster, does not mean its random inclusion from time to time without player consent doesn't exist - because you never cared about it in the first place.
Obi-Wan Kenobi refers to blasters as "uncivilized", "random", and "clumsy".
Is this akin to "British Humor", self referencing Obi-Wan's lackluster talents with regards to such weaponry?
Or are we to take Kenobi's remarks as a form of world building? If so, then how are we to interpret the statements Kenobi made? Posh elitism of the "Jedi Class"? Or scorn at an inferior tool, when one has a more capable and precise instrument at one's disposal? Perhaps it a concept akin to derision towards a 2-stroke engine with regards to usage in Formula One races.

What a waste of time this was, arguing about a make-believe world fully owned and licensed by a mega-corporation (and prior to that, it was owned by a sell-out hack looking to make a buck).
If you wanted say you prefer age of Jedi that lasted from lets say "Young Jedi adventures" until Star Wars ep2-3, where Jedi used "only lightsabers", then saying you dont like Cal using blaster at time when Jedi are either dead or use any means necessary to survive/get job done is pointless, game just have story time during your not prefered period of time....and sadly games in your prefered period of time are "rare" and guess they wont make new games in that period of time....which is sad imo too
If you wanted say Jedi should stick to use only lightsaber at all time at all cost...Obi-Wan etc. would have died far sooner than they did and Jedi order as you see it would have died out "ages ago"....ofc new order of force users that are standing on the right side with different name with own rules etc. would rise up to counter the sith etc...
For basic scissors-stone-paper point of view(actual combat only)....lightsaber vs blaster....its no doubt that lightsaber>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>blaster no matter what and is more elegant etc..., but if no lightsaber is at your disposal(lost, broken, missing, cant be used for whatever reason etc.) than any means necessary to survive/get job done -blaster/force/anything is better used than just dying or letting bad guys do bad things etc.
If you want say its ruining Cannon, then its not the case...since before your prefered time and after your prefered time Jedi/force users used other means for fight than just lightsabers and its Cannon, not speaking that in general everything is evolving and changing so nothing remains same over time which is natural...
Btw If we want to speak of something that completly ruined SW vibes/Cannon etc., then its when non-force users that effectively use lightsabers for fight/block/block-reflect shots....
To summarize:
You prefer "Old times", but game take place in "New times"
You prefer bigger "RPG customization", but game "dont allow" it
You prefer to have "dynamic cutscenes", but game have "pre-rendered cutscenes"
I get that you like the idealistic idea of Jedi that at some time and age was actual and active, but as time changes things like this changes too...so sadly this was just not that time, but it could have been expected...
Grievous with a blaster as well?
(More of a fun question than a serious one)
