is map very confusing or am I missing something?

I am almost unable to use the map.
I am most likely missing something, but...
Problem is I can see where I want to go on map, but I can't understand how it can help me getting there.
Can someone tell me how to navigate the map while playing?

Map takes a lot of getting used to.

Like, I understand how to navigate using all the yellow and green markers. The problem is that the actual terrain isn't really shown on the map.

Like that laboratory on the shattered moon, I spent like 30 minutes running in circles near the end, just before you fight the guy for his lightsaber, because the path you were supposed to take can't be made out on the map, at all.

All they had to do was mark the zipline, but they didn't.
It's moments like this that make me consider turning on the navigation assist but according the google that thing is just as useless.

Navgivation assist just goes 'ding' when you're facing the right direction. I turned it off after a few minutes of using it.

Sheesh thought I was the only one, just posted the same thing. I hope the whole game isn't like this.
