Stuck at game launch / "drawing symbols" screen

So I was able to successfully launch, didn't get the weird EA error some people are experiencing. Got the splash screens with Lucasfilm, etc, then the title image saying "Jedi Survivor." And then when I would normally expect to go to the main menu, instead I end up looking at some very pretty circles being drawn over and over and over again. For minutes at a time, it never seems to progress, does not respond to any input, etc.

Has anyone seen this?

The 'optimizing game files' screen. The slower your system, the longer it takes. All you can do is wait it out.
