How to fix Jedi Survivor, atleast for me, on RTX 2060
I had terrible lag and stuttering, I could not run this game! But then I downloaded another DLSS file from https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/ and replaced it with the default that came with the new patch. It now runs perfectly on ultra settings. not kidding, its a small miracle. Atleast for me it was, hope it works for some of you. I downloaded the DLSS 2.2.6 version. I do use ReShade from https://reshade.me/ To deal with the blurriness.

There is ofc. some blurriniess and sharpness isuues. But for me, playing on old tech like an i5-8400 and RTX 2060. I am finaly able to play the game.

AND WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS

Happy it worked for you to! It runs quite well for me still, though still with some issues here and there. But, MUCH better then before.

could you give me the path for the DLSS file that is to be replaced? Thanks

Hi, how do you replace the DLSS for the old one?
Silver Knight Oct 2, 2023 @ 4:40pm
a different DLSS dll doesn't fix the erratic frametimes in this game, nothing does unless you're okay with locking to 30 fps to get a somewhat consistent performance

yeah from my tests I found that to be true, ill post my 20 hours of tests with the ultra+ mod that helps stuttering slightly.

My experience with this game, this mod and the only way to fix stuttering 99% of the time.

Specs:
4090
7800x3D

settings used in game: everything ultra, no RT

Non-Streaming pak cuz that was the only one available

So this mod is amazing, it makes the game look so much better but the stutters are still a big issue, the only fix I've found to remove all stutters from the game is to cap your fps to 30 in RTSS, that will eliminate every stutter and the frame time graph will be smooth but 30fps makes my eyes bleed lol, but any fps over 30 will bring back stutter and traversal stutter... I tried 40fps 60fps 80fps 120fps and unlocked.... I tried changing my refresh rate to 60hz... nothing, I tried vsync, gsync, vsync off and frame gen with all these combinations of frame rate targets.... nothing worked still besides 30fps sadly. but I found out the higher your fps the worse the stutter is, at 40fps the stutter was only micro stutters (around 1 to 2 fps) but at 120 plus fps it was major stutters (around 30 to 40fps) I hope this info can help some people not waste there own time testing.

30fps sucks but thats the only way to remove all stutters from the game sadly. (from my testing for over 12 hours 😒)

Edit: so I've made some pretty interesting results, i used a program called nvclean install to debloat my Nvidia graphics driver and with a program called MSI utility v3 I changed an option called interrupt priority under my graphics card from (undefined) to (high) and the stuttering is reduced when playing at 60fps, I did also set jedi survivor to high priority when launched in task manager too, I'm not sure which setting/changes I made had the best results cuz I didn't test them individually. I just thought I'd throw in my testing and changes I've made because the overall experience is much BETTER for me now.

For NVclean install:
-I downloaded the latest driver from Nvidia's website and downloaded DDU and NVclean install.
-open up NVclean install and choose use driver files on disk and find the downloaded driver u got from Nvidia's website and hit next.
-on select components to install click on recommend at the bottom right and select USB C driver if u have ant USB C ports on your pc, hit next.
-it will unpack and when thats finished there is a few option that I selected that ill go over now.
disable installer telemetry and advertising
disable multiplane overlay (MPO)
show expert tweaks
diable nvidia HD audio device sleep timer
enable message signaled interrupts and set interrupt policy to high
disable HDCP
rebuild digital signature
use method compatible with easy anti cheat
-then hit next and show in folder
-make a folder and name it what ever u want on your desktop and drag all those files into that new folder and now u have a debloated nvidia display driver ready to be installed.

after that i would use that program called ddu to completely remove your current nvidia display driver, just watch a video telling u what to do and after thats done open up that folder and run setup.exe and now youll be installing that new graphics driver. restart your pc after that.
youll have to redo this for every new graphics driver

for MSI Utility v3
-download it and run as admin
-find your GPU under name, for me it says nvidia geforce rtx 4090
-then under interrupt priority it should say undefined, change that to high and hit apply at the top right
if it already is set to high then your good, leave it at that.
u might need to restart your pc after this change but im not sure, restart to be safe. it wont hurt lol.

so when u launch the game open up task manager, go to details and find jedi survivor and then right click it, go to set priority and set that to high, youll have to do this every time u launch the game.

with all these changes, tweaks plus hours of testing with and without this mod id really recommend playing this game at 60fps with a 60fps cap set in RTSS, youll get some stutters but it wont be as bad with all these changes, if u want no stutters cap your fps at 30 with RTSS and maybe try 40 with RTSS too. i tried all these setting with vsync off in the nvidia control panel with monitor tec set to fixed refresh rate too, v sync also off in game. i would get pretty bad screen tearing so i say try it out and if u dont get screen tearing your good to go. another 2 solutions is to make sure your monitor refresh rate is set to 120 or 60, 120 worked best for me and if u have a gsync display enable that and set vsync to on in the nvida control panel and off in game with a 60 fps cap in RTSS. i got no screen tearing at all, low input latency and with all those changes the micro stutters where less. also if u have a rtx 4000 series gpu do not turn on frame gen if u set an fps cap with rtss, itll cause u to get massive input latency. yeah it sucks not to use it but youll get less big stutters overall and your frame times will be much smoother.
if u end up playing at 30fps or 40fps try turning on motion blur, itll make fast camera movements less choppy but that is complete personal preference. at 30 and 40 fps i prefer motion blur but if im playing at 60fps then put motion blur in the trash where it belongs, but if your still getting very slight micro stutters at 60fps motion can hide them slightly, just depends what u like.

i hope this post really helps some people out and i thank the mod author for this making this mod, it really does make the game look better while helping with stutters slightly, i dont think i could ever play this game again without this mod, the games ugly without the mod authors tweaks 🤣 also sorry about the long novel 🤣

Am using 2060 6GB. Switching to that DLSS version made the game playable for me. Legend. :crtgoofy:

Truly can't believe it but it did fix my issues. Almost as smooth as Fallen Order now on my 2060 + I7-4790k

This really dose work. Went from all medium (with some on low) with still some stuttering problems to all high and good fps. Really smooth and can't believe this was the fix I needed.

I am running those exact same pieces of hardware did you make any other Changes to settings or did you only change the DLSS file? There seems to be so many articles out there saying this is best no this is best but since you use the same exact hardware I was hoping you can help me out

In windows , go to graphic setting and add jedi survivor exe.
Then select option and high performance ,you can reduce many traversal stutterings.
cheers.

There are some mods on Nexus that I also used. I am running an OC to 4ghz as well.
