Ray Tracing Crashes Jedi Survivor
I have been trying to figure out for a month now what has been crashing my game. I thought it may be ram instability issues. I changed the .exe to "high priority" adjusted compatibility DPI scaling settings. None of these solutions worked for me. It would mostly crash at the Darth Vader Fight and in the Desert with the walkers. I finally decided to disable ray tracing and what do ya know... no more crashes, period. I have a rtx4090 and it never occured to me to disable ray tracing. I just set it to Epic and forgot about it (32gb dd5 6800mhz i9 13900k z690i). However now that i know what the issue is... i find it unacceptable to add a feature like ray tracing when it will not even work on a flag ship video card like the 4090. I have found no other threads that actually address this particular issue. Thought are welcome. hope they have a patch coming.

Crash in runnable thread PoolThread 4

I'm getting this error with RT on, my RTX 3060TI is always under 7.5gb at max settings at 1080p, but ram sky rockets to 15.5gb... I only have 16g of ram.
Even with RT off, game runs at with 7gb of ram or lower, but ram is still way too high, ranging from 10gb to 14gb... I have absolutely no room for ray tracing.
Took me awhile but ive figured out why its crashing with RT.

Why?
Do you have issues with white flashes also when turning camera?

Not me. Game looks falwless.
Hmm very strange. Because the occlusion is busted. In Jedha in the cere's base you don't see white flashes in the corner of the screen when turning quickly?
That was the first one i fixed.
But what are you doing to fix RT performance?

This was my big eureka moment last night. I was about to give up on the game. Crashing like every 15-20 min. on Jedha. It was unplayable. Disabled RT, and it hasn't crashed since. All other settings are maxed, playing in 4K. Getting about 70 fps, which is enough. Still some stutters and fps dips here and there, but it's not too bad.

Yuk, people with higher end GPUs are also having problems with RT. I will not try to turn it on again until they fix it. Consoles are running RT, even if at 900p LOL, but they're running.

wrong
100%.

Actually disabling RTX removes almost all stutters and I’ve (touch wood) not had any crashes since disabling.

What really annoys me though is clearly no one tested this feature.

I’m using a 7800X3D/4090 and 32GB - I don’t think the EA statement on “combination of new and old hardware” has any bearing on my config. Frankly it’s release first, fix later mentality.

I have to say, since the game isn’t crashing on me - and the frame rate isn’t giving me a headache, I’m getting back into the story and enjoying the adventure. It’s just shame it wasted hours of time

I think DF summed up the experience on Day 1 ; https://youtu.be/uI6eAVvvmg0
I can use ray tracing (4090) without any crashes except on Jedha which has a bug (don’t know why they haven’t fixed this yet). On Jedha I must temporarily turn off RT, then I don't have any crashes there either. Which is a pity because I want to use RT also on Jedha as it looks much better IMHO… Will they ever fix this??
I've crashed twice on Jedha when we are on the camel thing and then the sandstorm gets close. Can't get past it. I haven't had this issue till now so do you think ray tracing is the issue? I have a 4090 so this kinda sucks.
