First time setup every time?
Every time I launch the game I have to go through the first time setup again. I have to set the brightness, if im using headphones, how far I am from the screen, etc.

Anyone know how to prevent this?

I have the same problem, not sure how to prevent this yet.

This is an issue with Unreal. Most games that have had issues in the last year have had this happen. Unfortunately not much to do with this game since Epic dumped UE4

the issue just stopped happening for me. I no longer experience this problem but have no idea what changed

It stopped happening for me as well. Not 100% sure what fixed it for me, there are 2 things I did differently the last time before it was fixed:

- Starting it up from EA program directly (normally I always started it through steam)
- Quitting to the main menu (normally I always chose quit to desktop)

Did not work for me so something else is going on...

I had the same issues : I have my games & EA App (and steam) installed on disk D: and by rightclicking on the D:\EA app and steam folders and unchecked the Attributes : Read only (Only applies to files in folder) it now saved the settings. The optimizing will prevail but it will save the other settings.

This keeps happening to me.

I just cannot believe how godamm buggy this game is.

Even though it has good gameplay and story, it deserves every negative review there is and more.

Its just unacceptable levels of bugs!

I'm having the same issue. I've looked around and found others with the same problem and have tried various solutions, but nothing seems to stop it.

Uneffingreal! A simple fix that costs them at least my purcha$e if not many others. Typical Gen Z at the controls!

I don't get what you mean. Where exactly did you uncheck read-only? The EA Launcher.exe or the JediSurvivor.exe?

To have the first time setup again and again is sooo annoying.

Just wanted to come back and note that I think I was able to stop this by using only my keyboard to input commands.

I had seen someone make a note of this on another forum or perhaps Reddit, but I can't find the other post.

Anyway, I thought that I'd updated my reply here weeks ago, but it looks like I was wrong... sorry about that.

But after trying everything else, including setting everything as read-only and taking full control over all the various game folders...simply using my keyboard on the 'initial setup' screens (not using any mouse buttons) seems to have worked.

I think the game (at the moment) seems to have an issue with some commands going through the mouse. It does recommend using a controller, of course, but I really wish using M+KB wasn't so bugged. It's not the only thing I had a problem with while playing this game... Often my custom mouse keybinds both in-game and set through my Logitech G-Hub settings app would simply stop working, until I manually went into my G-Hub app and pointed back to the game's .exe

This worked for me! I loaded the game, used only the keyboard (including space bar to skip the video) then exited and reloaded without SETUP starting again.
Thank you!

Amazingly, this was the fix. What a BS thing to have to figure out. Thank you for sharing!
