The game won't start without an internet connection??!

So yesterday I was watching documentaries on YT. A few minutes after midnight I lost connection. I was offline for more than 2 hours. My ISP was performing the maintenance.
I said to myself...well...no internet. I will play Jedi Survivor. ...yeah right :-(

The game refused to start because I was offline. How stupid is that??! I own the game. I paid for it! It looks like the game has to connect to the servers every time before launch. Every single time!
It's ridiculous. Thanks, EA! A purely SP game requires a constant internet connection.

Looks like we don't own this game guys. At least not fully. If you are offline. If you are in some remote place without a connection to the internet you will not play this game!

Any thoughts?

yeah single player game should be able to play offline for the price paid it shoulda come out polished. but they instead released an unpolished buggy turd.

This game doesn't have an online component at all!

I bought a pure single player game. This game will not start if I am off-line! Where is logic in this?

Because they dont want you to share the account and let multiple people play with one licensed copy, see, this is the DRM for ya.

Dont forget that there is Denuvo, steam and EA DRMs beside that online DRM check.

So simply by buying any game with this kind of behavior, not only you get locked out like this but also you are supporting and encouraging them to go even further with DRMs.

I remember last time I had Internet connection issues I had to disable WiFi for it to start. So it does allow you to play offline, but it is too stupid to detect that you are actually offline.

Yeah. I did that. I disabled both: the router and ethernet controller. The game doesn't start.
To me, it looks like I am renting the game instead of owning the game.
Just like paying rent for your apartment. You do not own it. You rent it.

They should at least give us... lets say 2 or 3 times that we can start the game without the connection. After 3 times the game must reconnect with the servers to verify this or that, but no!
No connection = no play.

So essencially to get Star wars jedi survivor to start in offline mode you have to completly exit steam and restart it in offline mode with no internet connection. Make sure your wifi is completly off for this to work or it will try to use the internet that it doesnt have. Then start up the game and it will work😁
