Crossguard *Should* be quicker and more nimble
Being a bigass twohander should not make the weapong being wielded like a polearm. I know, I know, balancing and all. It would be even more awesome to use if a bit faster.

It should have a lunge option, would make it far more usable. It's too slow for the final fight on Koboh, had to go back to the regular stance.

Crossguard is the heavy weapon in a souls game. Treat it as such and you should do ok.

That said dual sabers and blaster are my favorites.

I love it but yes, I agree. And it's a lightsaber, it should not have weight.

I have mostly enjoyed the balance of the crossguard stance on Story Mode difficulty. I think enemies are more likely to stand around an wait to be hit.

If you need a fast option with defense, staff is the choice... I'm not that far in the game, yet, since I try to solve any rumor, But staff has the same block meter as crossguard, can handle multiple foes much easier, and even has a special single-enemy attack-chain.

I LOVE the foece-attack of cossguard, though, at least upgraded (which I have.)

BTW: there ARE some options which extend the reach. of several attacks.
Force-Push (upgraded) is also a real good choice in conjunction with crossguard. This will stagger your enemy and opens a window to attack.

The stances of my choice are dual wield and staff. though.

Yeah there’s some lore reason for this, to do with the kyber crystals and how they are used in the weapon, plus the wielded needing a force connection to maximize it. GL has talked about how he envisioned the lightsabers to be a bit unwieldy especially if you havent been trained. It’s all a bit of a stretch but they at least attempted to lorify it

lol, yea obviously it's a balance thing, but it is kinda funny that making a beam of light a little bit longer apparently makes it 100lbs heavier.

All can be explained through the force. That a "beam of light made a bit longer" can alone be explained because of the force, because you can't stop a beam of light without physical obstacles in the first place.

So a lightsaber:
- can't do any damage in reality
- can't be a "blade" in reality
- is just a flashlight in reality
- which has an unending beam, until there is a physical oblstacle in reality.

So there aren't any real posibilities, that a lightsaber exists in reality in the first place.
But this is snience-fiction-fantasy, and if you need an explantion why a lightsaber is handled like it is handled, just take the force for explanation.

whats crazy is that its slower, but weighs the exact same cause its basically the saber hilts weight and a plasma blade, so like why is it slower, it could be the stance itself, but the way you fight with it is messy imo and doesnt feel right. it seems to me like its more of a kylo ren saber stance insert.

because thats pretty much what it is

Thematically, it should be quicker.

But gameplay wise, if they made it quicker it would become quickly OP.

Crossguard is my favorite stance on grand master by far and I intend to play through the entire game with it. Every hit has weight to it and it just feels so good to use, you have to be deliberate in the way you attack/counter. But SO worth it IMO

It's "slowness" can easily be overcome with good timing and deliberate attacks.

Just beat the double rancor fight with crossguard alone (on grandmaster), and intend to start working on double oggdo fight next...

I keep wanting to love crossguard, and I agree its just to slow. Even with the full tree unlocked, I just could not get the specials off like I can with any other style.

And yes I can do the moves with single, double, two-handed, and blaster without issues.

It's literally the heavy stance in the Jedi Knight games...not some new concept. A bit disappointed at the entire "stances" system anyway...was thinking they were going to be uniquely named styles with various pros and cons like in KOTOR 2 but instead having two sabers is considered a "stance".

To maximize crossguard you should generally be parrying and dodging and only attacking when there's an opening. It's the least exciting imo, but it's a beast if you have the timing down. A bit rough for group fights.

It's great, I like the slower, more considerate play style, but it was poor against Dagen in the last fight
