Duo Spawn of Oggdo fight need to be properly managed, which means moving around in a way that you have both Spawns in your field of vision. Ideally, you also do not want the active one blocking the passive one since when they switch aggro, the obscured one can initiate tongue attack and you will have to start from the beginning.
There were absolutely situations where I got screwed by duo fight but it is randomness you can do much about. Once I found a way to deal with single Spawn, the tear encounter fell shortly after.
