Can I run this?
Hey guys,

Just a quick one - i have a Radeon RX6600 GPU but only a Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00GHz - do you think it is worth trying to play this on low settings?

It is just outside the min spec by about 15% - 20% on the cpu.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

480p low settings should get you 18-24 fps with FRS

Really?

That bad?

A RX6600 with this CPU?

Running is one thing, running it well is another...

There are so many factors that will make this game perform badly, no one can say until you try it out.

I am on 5600x+ 6600xt and getting 50-75fps on 1440p high settings with fsr quality. Do note that the game only drops below 60 on open areas like koboh other than that its always above it. With your current cpu the game would def be cpu bound so i will suggest trying the game out yourself and refund if it does not work well under 2 hours.

Your PC stinks. Just get it on PS5.

I'm running a i9-13900k 24 core with a 4070ti 12gb and 32gb Ram and i had it set to highest settings w/ ray tracing @1440 capable of 166hz and i constantly fell below 45fps. I would try what you can to get the game to run smooth if you really want to play right now, but don't sacrifice what the game could be for you. i played 79 min and then requested a refund. Planning on buying it after the bugs are worked out and it goes on sale, worst $90 I've spent in a long time.

WOW!

I have no chance! lol

Would prob get 10-15 fps before my computer blew up.

Anyone out there with a spec close to mine that have tried running it?

I have an RX 6600.

The game is mostly CPU bound, and mostly to two cores, so both statements are accurate:
  • "480p low settings should get you 18-24 fps with FRS"
  • "1080p Epic settings should get you 18-24 fps with FSR Quality"
And the 18-24 is not the average frame rate, 18 hours on the EA app and it was just for a cutscene at the start of the game.

Average Frame Rates at 1080p Low Settings, FSR Quality, are typically above 60 FPS. Though, more heavy areas drop the frame rate to 40 FPS. Changing between the High, Epic, and Low presets seems to only net about 10 FPS difference.

It is a bit hard to tell if Ray Tracing is enabled, the game looks good on all settings but cutscenes do look like cutscenes on Epic with Ray Tracing enabled.

Ray Tracing seems to cause another 10 FPS hit to performance. So 10 -FPS for Epic, and -10 FPS for Ray Tracing, and you could still wind up with playable frame rates in less demanding portions of the game.

Game looks good enough on the Low preset, in my opinion. Just make sure you keep FSR set to Quality. The scaling is bugged, disabling it results in a blurry 50% scaling, but FSR Quality keeps the visual fidelity up.

Dunno, i have an RX6600 and a Ryzen 5 5500 and it runs above 60 fps most of the time ,tho with that said there are some nifty areas where it drops like the saloon on koboh is like 40 fps or the shattered moon (40-55) but besides those areas its 60fps on high

1080p with high setting and try to limit your FPS to 30, Dont use any upscaling you will just put more stress on your CPU.

So, Respawn and Electronic Arts (EA) have announced PlayStation 4 and XBox ONE releases.

The PlayStation 4 has a 1.6GHz processor. If the enhancements for the PlayStation 4 can be made available on the PC, this can could then easily run on most mainstream PCs of the day including the "Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7400".

If they target the specs of the PlayStation 4 Pro model, with its 2 GHz CPU, then at least a combination of a RX6600 and a 6-Core Ryzen 5 5500 (4.2 GHz?) should not have to worry about frame rates.
