Jedi: Survivor is boring, poorly written, and unimaginatively animated
Why isn't anyone talking about how hopelessly outdated this game's narrative concept is? Main character and sidekick from the retort, right at the beginning this embarrassing flashback, which is probably supposed to represent the grief over deceased friends, but leaves me completely cold because I didn't get to know the characters.

I don't even want to talk about the level design: I'm not saying that the "Star Wars" films and comics attracted attention due to their special depth - but a cheap jump-and-run doesn't do them justice either.

In addition, opponents who constantly respawn without any sense or reason, generic NPCs who stand around motionless like climate glue in the area, helplessly flail their arms and say their little spells... my goodness! We had that a quarter of a century ago in Baldur's Gate or Broken Sword. Except that in this case the story was written much more gripping.
At least the game runs fine on my machine. But it's also no fun if the game environments are designed without love and effort. And anyway – why doesn't anyone actually live there? The last time I saw streets that empty was in Mass Effect 1. But that was really difficult to animate.

Fortunately, I only downloaded the game via the EA account - I wouldn't have paid the full price for it.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. What do you want instead of those? These stupid people saying "This is bad blah blah blah." But doesnt give an alternative that can make it better. Trash opinion = troll. Do you want another GTA5 with NPCs walking around? KOTOR storyline? Its like you can make a better game than this.
A lot of pedestrians and gamers would design a better game than this. You don't have to be a baker to know which bread is better. You can also be a baker, and bake poor quality bread. The guy is right, the maps are lifeless and there are no pedestrians, game had no care put into it.

I enjoy everything except the parkour-like parts. Seems every few minutes there is another run, jump, climb part. /sigh It wasn't so much a part of the first one. Yes, I do suck at it. Have some range of motion issues in my right wrist that hates this game. But why so much of it? A lazy devs way of adding challenge? I didn't expect Assassins Creed. I love the characters, and the starwars environment, though it doesn't seem familiar in the way of previous games. It runs great on my PC. But the controls.... And I can't use a controller. I wanted so much to enjoy this game and I can't. But that is just me

Jedi survivor is lazy, poorly written, and the graphics have virtually a non updated look. Overall the game is disappointing and I regret buying it.

poorly written

The original Star Wars, "Episode IV: A New Hope", was a pretty basic good vs evil fairy tale with wizards and knights, and a bad dude in black armor.

The series progressively moved beyond that simple premise. Using it as a basic concept to tell a more complex story.

The Prequel Trilogy stacks on a "Chosen One" plot device to Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader), shifting his character into the center of the story. It takes this "Chosen One", "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility" concept, and turns Shmi Skywalker into "Uncle Ben". Then it turns Padme into Gwen Stacy. The Vader armor, the dark side, is then the Venom Symbiote.

It then turns the focus of that responsibility into letting go of attachments. To become apathetic, and numb to the strongest of emotions. To undergo the Vulcan ritual of Kolinahr, to borrow from Star Trek. In Star Trek, the Vulcans have Pon Farr, which is the Vulcan desire to marry. We start moving into analyzing the ethics of emotions, and with it "Emotional Intelligence".

Knights of the Old Republic II then introduces us to Darth Traya, or Kreia as she is usually known. A companion character of the player, she challenges the player to question the "poorly written". Question the "status quo". Should Yoda burn the texts in The Last Jedi, freeing future Jedi from the chains of a corrupt Jedi Order? That corruption including the notion that Jedi should not have attachments. Did the Force itself turn upon a corrupt Old Jedi Order? Was Anakin Skywalker railroaded into his destiny? Did the old Jedi Order reap the consequences of what they were sowing?

Jedi: Survivor dives into this tension between something that emerges from the central conflict of the Original and Prequel Trilogy. It asks what were was the old Order afraid of?

Jedi: Survivor doesn't answer questions. It doesn't preach a particular philosophy. It explores the heart and soul of Star Wars.

I like the gameplay outside of combat and the story honestly, managing the cantina is satisfying and fun IMO. The villains are cheesy and Darth Vader was thrown in again which felt fan servicey. While some things are improved since Fallen Order, others are worse. Can't customize the Mantis at all for example. Still checkpoint based and no way to save manually. Enemies re-spawn which doesn't make any sense and no way to turn it off. Some things feel like a puzzle when they don't need to be. Overall worth buying on sale but it is no way worth $70

If you're looking for a perfect game, good luck finding it. Don't search for it in a game that you don't like.

Yes, I completely agree with this statement. An awkward, badly balanced game. Do regret buying it.

This is a futile debate. In case you haven't noticed you are in the Star Wars nation, talking to Star Warsians - no good will come from saying you don't like their food, landscape and mannerisms. Try that on the SWTOR forums and expect a knock on your door within the following minutes. No, seriously.... don't :)

What is this? This seems like hyperbolic extremism.

This isn't just the "Star Wars nation". There are several "virtual" nations overlapping. The PC Gamer nation, which includes nerds who build PCs. The Sci-Fi nation, which includes Halo and Mass Effect fans. Now it also apparently includes Starfield,... These are all subsets of the larger "gamer" nation, who play video games.

The game itself is full of things to critique and criticize. It is flawed and falls short of 'Game of the Year" in almost every way.

It is not however the worst game ever made. We're not talking "Big Rigs Over the Road Racing". It is also assuredly better than "Superman 64". And it may not be the modern E.T. The Extra Terrestrial.

What is Jedi: Survivor being held against?

Balder's Gate 3 is an entirely different type of game, and direct comparisons are probably not fair.

The Legend of Zelda franchise? Breath of the Wild? Tears of the Kingdom?

The Star Wars franchise? Battlefront II? Dark Forces: Jedi Knight? Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast? The Force Unleashed? Knights of the Old Republic I & II? Adjacent titles like Mass Effect? Rebel Assault 1 & 2?

From Software games? Dark Souls? Eldin Ring? Armored Core VI? Adjacent titles like Lords of the Fallen? Titanfall 2?

Tomb Raider 2013? Shadow of the Tomb Raider?

Mirror's Edge? A Hat in Time?

Kena: Bridge of Spirits? Ratchet and Clank a Rift Apart? Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt? Red Dead Redemption 2? Mario Odyssey? God of War?

Starfield? No Man's Sky? Star Trek Online? Elite Force II? Bridge Commander? Klingon Academy? Super Mario Bros. 3? Mario Rabbids: Sparks of Hope? Dante's Inferno? Bayonetta?

Shenmue released on the Dreamcast in 1999 and featured npc’s with jobs and a work/homelife routine, creating a believable openworld. Somehow graphics have improved buy A.I has taken a nose dive.

You went orbital about a little satirical joke. Seems you need a break from gaming forums.

I was surprised how boring the story was. Much worse than the first game. The trailer completely mislead me. I thought this was going to be a kind of political intrigue plotline.

Your comedy is improving. I'm gonna quote a great artist named Michelangelo; Keep- practicing.

Episode I: The Phantom Menace does have political intrigue. Otherwise, I'm curious as to how the trailer was misleading?

It misled me because the trailer made me think I was getting a great product, but like the Phantom Menace, trailer. I thought the stuff with the empire and the political intrigue was going to be the driving thrust of the story, that the game was going to be darker and just generally more awesome than it was.
The game feels so bland and lacking in imagination. It’s very workman-like.
