There's nothing special about his mechanic and its very straight forward. He literally just beats you with his sheer strength in the force. I had more fun with Rayvis and Bode even though both were incredibly difficult to time things. With Rayvis you had the shooting and missiles part then with Bode you had his berserker mode while Vader is just bonking you repeatedly throughout the entire fight with the occasional 1-shot choke and ball of literature
Asthma Man: If you're having trouble with recovery animations, it might be an instance where you need to use the evade recover, maybe?? I'm not trying to sound elitist (I only played on master anyways), but that fight was so easy I don't even remember it. I was incredibly disappointed. I think I took less damage in that boss fight than any other boss fight in the entire game. Easy to parry, most of his unblockables just take 1 dodge back and it doesn't even have to be times.
This game is at the base a quick-time event style game. Even though it is lose enough to not be THAT. So find which parts you cannot counter with blocks, parries, distance, or perfect dodges, and use that ability there.
