RTX 4000 users: You can run 80+ fps with Ray Tracing now (DLSS 3 mod)

The DLSS 3 mod is on PureDark's Patreon.

It does cost $5 but I assure you, it is worth it. (If you can afford a 4070/80/90, the $5 wont hurt us, right? Haha.

For real though, it makes the game butter smooth. There is still some traversal/loading stutters though, courtesy of UE4. I'm still playing 99% of the time with 100 fps, locked.

Weirdly, the game works even better for me with Ray Tracing on, it doesn't impact performance either because Frame Gen is totally OP. The game's visual quality is improved SO much with RT on.

Just sad I am enabling this 15 hours in. Such a shame it didn't launch with DLSS & better optimization. Shouldn't need Modders and Patreon paywalls to get solid performance on a $70 game and $1200 GPU right? Yet here we are.

Anyway, it works great for me and I encourage those with RTX 40 cards to use it.

He said he will release it for Free, pubicly, when it is finished. The $5 paywall is essentially early access while he works out kinks - it's not perfect.

And the reason why DLSS & Frame Gen were not included at launch is because AMD paid EA to "sponsor" the game which really means blocking out their competitor NVIDIA's features, at the expense of the consumer.

Unreal Engine 4 literally has a DLSS plugin and check box. It's not an oversight by the devs to not include it, it's literally EA taking money from AMD to not do it.

Which is just straight f***d. Incredibly anti-consumer. I have an AMD CPU but they're punishing me for having a different GPU, it's ridiculous.

For the few of us that have spent $1000+ on an RTX 40 series card, DLSS 3 Frame Gen is literally the magic feature that can turn unpolished, early access, unoptimized, technical nightmare, bad performance games into a butter smooth experience.

It should not be even legal to exclude it because AMD paid EA, totally absurd, I hate it.

But also, DLSS 3 should not be a crutch that we have to RELY on to get good performance with new "AAA" launch titles from billion dollar companies. If the game was optimized at launch, we wouldn't even need it.

One guy happens to make a DLSS 3 mod for this game and that immediatelly leads you to this conclusion? This game isn't unpolished so the modder could sell the DLSS 3 mod. This game is just unpolished, because they didn't invest more time and money to optimize it.

Again, the modder isn't selling any mods. You just get early access to mods he is making.

It did not launch with DLSS because AMD was the partner for this specific game. That is why you only see one of the upsampling features in certain games.
DLSS and AMD's equilvant are just a crutch for laziness anyways.

If the mod creator was a real hero he would have released it for free just like thousands of modders on thousands of games have done before him. Or at least had an optional Donate button.

You need to understand that game are becoming more and more complex and that modifying a modern game is not an easy task.

thats actually an issue with the game, not mod - just turn RT off on Jedha

Tried the mod out and it indeed does boost fps massively while maxing out graphics and raytracing. I'm such a good boy and I get to play it sooooo goood

The fact that a 4090 can't run at that framerate without frame generation tells you all you need to know about this port. Sad really.
