So why people are pissed on EA instead of Respawn Entertainment about the quality of this game?
From what i know the publisher/producer relation works like this. One is suppling the other with cash. So what exactly it is ea fault if the game is ****. It is fault of people who made it and port it to pc. Of course there is some ea fault but i wouldn't put it all on ea shoulders.

Prolly because EA was pushing Respawn to shat it out as quickly as possible.
They are known for that type of stuff, releasing half baked games to fix them down the line.
With just a bit more time the devs could have fixed a lot of problems.

Eh, no matter the situation, it is less then ideal for everyone involved.
The publisher, the dev teams and the consumer.

EA own them so respawn are EA. Microsoft has complete responsibility for 343 and 343's legacy of failure.

Yeah, it is always publisher fault and it is never producer fault.
Are there any sources that support this claim or is it just a speculation?

Publisher has control over publishing. They set a date and make you stick to it regardless of how ready it is. And these days there will be a delay or two to give you hope that that means it will be ready. But obviously that hasn't been the case will a lot of releases in the last few years.

EA also own bioware but that doesn't mean if bioware game is a flop that is ea responsibility. Publisher gives set amount of time to finish a game. No one the true reason of this state, maybe they had some in house problems or staff related issues. None of which is related to ea.

Like i said ea is also to blame but i wouldn't pass 100% of it to them. I know it is not popular opinion. People like to cheer for the underdog. It is always the fault of big bad corporation.

As far as I'm concerned, the game itself is amazing. But PC Ports are last up when it comes to dev time and EA is to blame for them not getting the time. I can't imagine any developer wanting to put out a product that gets so much negative attention and potentially ruins their name and franchise. But a Publisher like EA owns so many development teams and are just looking at their quarterly reports and bank statements. The dev team now has to work way past the established dev time, potentially try to rehire people who may have moved on to other projects, just to fix something they likely begged EA for more time to finish.

Respawn has and does make good games relatively speaking. When they are basically required to fit a date set by the publisher (EA) who also owns the company and can be a direct voice that says “no” or “yes” on ideas and concepts, it’s easy to see that EA is more often than not the reason for a games shortcomings. Writing, cinematography, combat, all the mechanics are placed on the developer. If those are bad it’s just a developer issue.

Things like bugs and optimization issues generally are caused on the developer side of things but that’s why they need TIME to iron them out and finalize it. EA does NOT want to provide more time than what they originally set 4+ years ago for the developer and so the developer must make due with the time they have.

I have no doubt this game will run smoothly with a few more patches. It’s just a shame a company like EA can’t offer them an extra 3-6 months development time to work out the technical difficulties.

TLDR: while Respawn isn’t innocent here and they def need to ensure the quality of the game. EA is the main driver and reason behind games being pushed out in unfinished states. There are many developers that ask for additional time and it’s their parent company / publisher that says no since the publisher has all their money sunk into the project and they want a return.

Historically speaking, if a game is launched in a buggy state it was usually because the publisher put pressure on the developer to meet a deadline even if that meant releasing a product that wasn't really ready to go yet. They are usually the party with the most power in the relationship and therefore the one that makes the final decisions on things like this. This isn't universal, sometimes development companies are run by suits with no professional pride in the product's quality and force a terrible release themselves. But generally speaking its a safe bet to blame a game released in an unfinished state on the publisher setting a deadline and refusing to budge on it despite the game not being ready yet.

The heads of Respawn used to make the Medal of Honor games with EA. They had a falling out with EA and started Infinity Ward with Activison and began the CoD series. They then had a falling out with Activision and came back to EA.

EA decides the release dates also probably decides on the budget for the dev team that handles optimization as well as the QA team.
