GPU Temp Spike in Menu
My RTX 4080 goes from 55 C in game to 70 C in the pause menu. Optimized my ass.

The FSR Quality and Disabled resolution scalings are apparently reversed. I think there are other settings that are reversed.

Since low CPU and GPU utilization ingame is a common complaint, it may be that the Pause Menu throttle is inversed.
Seeing similar behaviour. CPU and GPU at 40-50% while ingame, when going to Menu GPU goes to 75-80% and CPU 25%.
Noticed that modifing light saber color at work bench menu, GPU goes to 90-100% and my youtube clips on second screen start to lag xD

Sounds like unlocked FPS, where as in game you are either CPU or Memory speed/latency bottlenecked. Easy to do if you're running RT + Nvidia driver overhead.

Or could be neither. Game is a tad wacked right now.

and 70C is bad how? My game also spikes alot higher in pause menu...every single game i have does that. Go to nvidia control panel and set background FPS to 30 and just alt tab the hell outta the game in the meantime if your gonna go do stuff :)

Check the FPS in menus. It is problem in a lot of games where your FPS goes over 300 in menus and cooks the GPU for no reason. I just normally throw 120 FPS limit on games that have this problem.
turn on vsync or use a frame cap my man.

yeah this one is odd as fallen order didnt do that, here menu spikes gpu usage to 100% while in game the gpu usage often sits at about 65% for me rarely hitting 100%.
and im pretty sure its cuz of denuvo as I experienced similar issues on multiple denuvo titles on 2 different rigs.
we should file a class action lawsuit against denuvo to bury that malware scam company to the ground.

I have global FPS limit in Nvidia COntrol Panel set to 144 and background to 30, too. (While the 30 does not apply with borderless mode) but have created a separate profile for Jedi Survivor now.
My ingame FPS are around 100 and Menu reaches the cap 144 -> changed the Cap to 100 now and the GPU went down from 75%-80% utilization to 30-40% and CPU from 25% to 15-20%
-> To your question "70° bad": For me it's just a point of keeping PC more silent and room temperature stays lower in summer :steammocking:

70? Close before melting. It´s in a lot of games the same "problem".

My 3070 is about 65 - 70 C the whole game.

Uh i seriously don't want to be rude but 70'C before melting ?

HELL NO !

For GPUs a temp of 70'C is actually quite normal and often considered even a "safe" temperature especially during summer time.

Even though they aren't really built anymore to withstand a temp of over 100'C like it was back in the old days, the current GPUs can still take up to 95'C without taking damage.

70 is a good GPU temp, and regards heat issues I'd recommend looking into undervolting. You can reduce the voltage needed for the GPU while achieving the same performance, it's really good over the summer as there's barely any heat compared to the stock values.

I also used NVidia Control Panel to force VSync on and the 144FPS cap, but the game's menu definitely needs work. Even with my undervolting, VSync & cap in place my GPU fans spin like crazy in the menu like an airplane about to take off and FPS goes up to the 90's when it doesn't need to, but temp still sits at a good 70-80 with not much heat coming out. In-Game fans are much better and FPS only about 60.

My GPU is the RTX 3090

I could achieve higher FPS but I prefer running on Epic graphics settings opposed to higher performance if I can still achieve 60, but might switch it up if I turn off shadows etc :)

Another edit I might have just cracked it, hope it helps others. I just set the DLSS3 Upscaler setting to Ultra Performance, and now it seems my menus are 144FPS (not too bothered lol but nice bonus), but main thing is the RPM is ~1900 same as it is in-game and temp is around 75, and fans don't spin like crazy. Give it a go.

I just bought the game and only browsed the settings to make sure everything's fine. And when I get back to menu I notice my GPU temps are constantly increasing for no reason. It's so good to know that after 2 years they still didn't fix this issue. Good job EA
