can't jump up on the wall in penitent chambers

After I push the crate over and get up on it, I can't get Cal to jump all the way up to the ledge to grab on and climb up. Never had jumping issues before. I've been trying it for 2 hrs. What gives?

I've been stuck for over a day on this stupid jump. It should not be this difficult.

This took me a long time too. I realized you have to jump straight up without pushing forward, then second jump in the air while pushing forward.
