All fixes tested - nothing. ReBar enabled. I've tried on defaults, reinstalling game completely -same ♥♥♥♥.
I have no issues not a single crash on in other places. FPS is steady and game is manageable.
My config: RTX 4080; Ryzen 7 5900X; 32Gb RAM DDR4; WD Black NVME SSD 1Tb.
Disabled RT and haven't had issues since. Got a huge increase in FPS too.
Now I'm back again and haven't crashed yet.
It's something specific to their PC configs, but don't tell them that. I they spend 4000 on a computer it should just work, and be guaranteed by a developer that didn't get any of that 4000 and not the guys selling parts
I can guess this won't be the first game using DX12 like this for this to happen. Other "DX12" games weren't really DX12, just bolt-on. It's going to be a painful ride for the PC space...
But hey, at least this game did help me see that some of those DX functions in DX12 lack null safety and need patching. Guess no one ever actually used them yet?
Have you considered that the bad reviews are from people who had a different experience from you, from a performance persepective?
I have a much higher spec system than you. i7 13700k, 4090, 64GB, NVMe and such. Get an average of 48FPS and crash every 10 seconds on Jedha.
If I cared to review the game, it'd be negative. Because I'd be reviewing it based on my experience, not yours.
I am not raging about the performance issues I've experienced. It will get worked out at some point, and perhaps you are right that it is "something specific to [my] config".
But... why should that matter?
Yes, the developers should do their best to ensure that their game works on as many systems as possible, if they choose to release a game on a platform where there are many hardware variations.
I'm sure they put some effort into this. But not enough apparently.
I've had no issues with other games a huge number of people did have issues with. CP2077 for instance... other than things like some clothing mods not actually adding the stats they said (or imparting the bonuses anyway) or skills not functioning. In terms of what I could actually see, the game ran fine.
And... I loved the game.
But you wouldn't catch me making flippant remarks to people who DID have issues with the game.
At the end of the day, it isn't our job to know why it isn't working and I'm not about to feel the least bit guilty about shaming a several billion dollar company for releasing a game in this state. Whether it is on their side, or mine. My PC runs every other game I throw at it just fine. So if the issues are on my end, it is odd that this is the only game that seems to suffer as a result.
Have you turned RT off?
