I'll have it off, I need that 10fps.
i'll keep my eye out for water.
The clincher for me is water, it's very bad with RT off. Any plants in front of the water break the reflection.
I ended up leaving it on mostly because I end up with around 30FPS whether it's on or off.
UE4 issue in every game with water that I've played.
What you basically meant, if i am right, is that, while it might look good, the performance cost of said feature is too high for it.
The only game i have seen it implemented well, is the Spiderman games on the PC. (Spider Man Remastered and Miles Morales), they utilize it rather well and even have stable fps enough for me to enjoy it.
Every other place, like Hogwarts Legacy, it took more than it gave, so as you said, most games with it, just don't add enough quality increase to justify the fps hit.
I might be wrong.
To which I say, it looks how it looks because how everything else looks in the game.
You don't blame the sun for your view of something not looking they way you want it to look, you blame what ever is interacting with the light.
The RT is properly implemented in my opinion, if you want to disprove that, then be my guest, say why it's ♥♥♥♥.
