controller buttons not working only thumbsticks work
I have been playing for 7.5 hrs now.
and suddenly my controller does not work or do anything. I cant use the buttons only the thumbsticks. I have tried dual sense and xbox one controller. Also tried big picture mode and tried wireless and wired gameplay.
Also checked on other games where i have 0 problems.

Only in jedi survivor I am having this problem.

What the hell am I supposed to do?

My DS4stopped working but for some reason it starts to work again after I open the Controller Settings from the start screen (using the mouse)

No I use Xbox controller or a dual sense ps5.
Both have the same issue.
Only the thumbstick work in the game. The arrow keys, right buttons and all the back buttons don’t work.

I’m sensing a disturbance in the controller

I was having trouble with my Xbox One controller not registering. The way I got it to work was by disabling Steam Controller Input completely,

Right-click on the game -> Properties -> Controllers -> Disable Steam Input.

I suspect it has something janky to do with the fact that it doesn't launch through steam but the EA launcher (albeit indirectly).

Hopefully, that works for people!

no because i tried with other games as well,
Hogwarts, battlefront, RDR II and Elden ring. I have tried them all to check if it was the controller or this piece of ♥♥♥♥ game.

are you maybe using a wooting keyboard?
or any other hardware input that is using controller inputs?
i unplugged my wooting keyboard before booting the pc and now it works

I am having the same issue. Apparently they are aware that it is an issue and are working on a fix. My controller works on every game except for jedi survivor. Might try unplugging my keyboard and see if that works.

fix is to connect your controller with wire

I booted up jedi survivor after a break and got this issue, My controlle is wired, so thats not it. Only sticks work, no buttons. All other games fine
i had the same problem, and i finally fixed it! it was stupidly simple. for me atleast. i had my arcade stick plugged in aswell as my xbox elite controller. and the game could not handle it.
so i just plugged out my arcade stick and it worked.
i hope this helps!

its only the up dpad or down dpad not working for me on dual sense wired so it seems there is a problem with controller support

Same issue with my ps5 controller
My buttons don’t work but i can move n look around with the analog sticks.
I tired resting controller settings , reinstalling steam/the games but that didn’t work .
The only fix that work for me was plugging in a new or different controller and it ended up working for me. Super weird that one controller won’t work but plugging in a new one/a different controller (same brand ps5) does.
I don’t wanna get rid of my “broken” controller but if any one finds a a fix it would be nice .
