Who was Cal Kestis before the previous game?
Oh right, a rando.
And again. Who cares. It's a game. You can have created characters with full characterisation in games. Why is this concept beyond some? Do you think Dark Souls is the sole template for created characters and not a design choice specific to that series?
"Honestly the game premise is again entirely ruined by not having character creation."
I think I was abundantly clear. Perhaps you should read beyond the threat titles next time.
Jedi Academy was the fourth game in a series.
*The more you know.*
He is a fixed character, with a backstory and everything.
The majority of games have set characters.
And this game is the direct continuation of the first game with the exact same character so it would make absolutely zero sense to suddenly change the character completely.
Maybe a new star wars game will let you do that but if you want it here you should just leave since it ain't gonna happen.
Says second game is too late to be talking about this.
I give example of a 4th game where the change happen.
Says to come back with the 4th game.
lol.
Okay since apparently nobody does their own research anymore, let me spell it out for you-
Dark Forces > Jedi Knight > Jedi Outcast > Jedi Academy.
Those first 3 games were centred around Kyle Katarn, a fixed character with a backstory and everything.
Jedi Academy was a direct continuation of the previous games where Kyle Katarn is still present as an NPC. None of that stopped it from evolving into character creation, which was more fun and opened up so many more options than centering a game around an atrocious actor with no personality.
Character creation predates mmos by decades.
Honestly, these arguments.. no wonder gaming is in the state it's in.
Yes it is. It's a *bad* design choice. How is that irony?
Also Yoda is of course alive, The Kid is for all intents and purposes still a jedi youngling.
Cere is literally in this game & actual spoiler for this game one of our antagonists is a jedi ...again.
On top of all of that Kanan is still bopping around the galaxy though he won't take on his apprentice Ezra until the years Andor takes place (still a few years off).
That's a minimum of five other Jedi, six if you count Ashoka. He is emphatically not the last jedi, all of these people survived the purge. About half of them are confirmed to live past the original trilogy!
(as to old Ben's insistence Luke was the last... remember that he deals in truths "from a certain perspective" So keep in mind that Cal could end up anywhere in any condition by his 'final' adventure.)
I thought diverting away from Kyle Katarn was a bad choice for Jedi Academy. Despite the improved saber combat and acrobatics in JA, the story was lame and the characters were hollow. JK and JO were so much more enjoyable to me, and Kyle was a major reason for that.
