The combination of Denuvo and Unreal Engine 4 is a one-two knockout
The Denuvo company use to have a clause on their website that if a games Denuvo DRM gets cracked within 3 weeks of the games release the games company would get its money back. This was removed from their website because they know they can't stop pirates even for that short period of time and what their selling is digital equivalent of snake oil. Denuvo has been cracked as quickly as 10 hours after a games release. Red Dead redemption 2 one of the biggest game releases of all time had its Denuvo cracked in just 2 days.
When shown these examples these DRM companies move the goal posts and try argue that half of a games sales are in first week of release. That this malware helps protect these early profits. This is based on a massive "unproven" assumption that pirates will buy the game legitimately within the first week if they can't pirate the game straight away. Many sales will be pre-orders and pirates are certainly not pre-ordering these games and people are pirating some games just to avoid Denuvo's performance ruining DRM.
Another game falling victim to snake oil salesmen.
Game has some serious issues with CPU/GPU usage and that is down to the devs and not Denuvo.
Are you kidding? All of the previous games which had stuttering, crashing, *and* Denuvo were all attributed to CPU/GPU usage which are direct factors.
The only thing Denuvo can do is cripple, block, or prevent - that's what DRM does. It's so bizarre seeing anyone defend it when it works against so many.
I think it has more to do with customer backlash. Including Denuvo is basically accusing everyone of being a thief coupled with the paranoia involved with being connected to greed. Greed/addiction is disease. It's like Callisto - they announced Denuvo 4-5 days before release and that's when the $#it-show started with a game would should have run smoothly in UE4 was plagued by stutter.
I'm certain it would run better, most if not all games do once it's removed. Why do people pay for handicapped games like this?
Same old PR-talk, champ. I'm old and have worked with computers for a long time. Denuvo makes no contribution to game optimization or performance, that's not what it was designed to do. One day there's going to be a lot more transparency about the malware called Denuvo which was designed to thwart or block and your propaganda will be forgotten.
Greed addiction and damaged thinking is what let to Denuvo, not game performance. Something is a little wrong with your thinking. You should add some corn syrup or milk to your gas tank every time you fill up, shouldn't cause any issues.
