Fire the person that designed the frog
Not able to parry enough attacks to break its guard.
Rotates like it's on a record player to land some BS hits.
Even attacking after a successful parry/dodge usually gets punished if you do more than 1 attack.
Worst designed boss ever.
I'm not even mad about the bad performance. It's just a bad boss that took way too many attempts to kill.

It's conceptually fine. It's just way too fast, and some of its attacks has sketchy hitboxes. I beat it after what felt like 50 attempts on Master difficulty.

And if you think that's bad, killing it unlocks another fight where you fight 2 at the same time.

You have been playing the game for 6 hours.

That is a Legendary enemy. You are not meant to challenge it right now unless you turn the difficulty down to Easy. There's no way you have enough skill points to have unlocked the good skills that will let you break its guard.

BTW: you can stun it.

There's a perk that boosts the damage you deal to the guard bar, there's skills that deal increased damage to the guard bar, and so on. Also, if it does its 1-2 melee combo, that's half of its guard bar gone if you parry both hits.

Instant kill attacks and unblockable heatseeking lunges are problematic especially when there is two in an arena that messes with your jumping near the edges

On the hardest its about a quarter of its guard bar, never mind trying to dodge the second plus its hit boxes are way off when it's attacking you

stop being a simp for bad game design
Worse boss in the game, bad game design..
I wish I could force choke the stupid frog boss into a sarlaac pit
Honestly the only real problem I have with it is in the dual fight, there can be rare situations where one will do the tongue attack while the other does the unblockable bite, which, if the tongue one is in the same half of the arena, is essentially unavoidable death.

Reading the title. i thought you were talking about Cere. I mean no frog can ever hope to look more than a frog than she does.

Basically this frog boss (particularly on grand master) can chain unblockable attacks together and has ALMOST zero recovery time on his attacks.

So not only does he just spam unblockables like crazy, but he recovers so quickly that you have to deke out specific attacks so that you can get ONE swing per specific attack off at a time.

Effectively this means the boss is a long drawn out boss that offers very little chance to counter any of his attacks. It's overtuned for grand master (maybe other difficulties it isn't so bad)

As for his attacks:
  • Tongue: double jump to side easy to dodge, offers ONE attack opportunity if you double jump towards his side (staying away from the tongue with lingering hitbox)
  • Jumping tackle where he puffs his mouth first: double jump over frog, can get 1 attack off if you space correctly and hit him on the fall of your jump
  • Extremely quick unblockable where he rears up and bites you: side step, can get 1-2 attacks of here
  • Standing jump: dodge or jump away, no attack opportunity
  • Quick chomps: perfect parry, usually he does two chomps in a row, can USUALLY get 1 attack off after perfect parrying BOTH chomps
  • Jumping slam where he jumps towards you (no mouth puff), double jump away, no attack opportunity.
  • You can cheese this boss to an extent by pulling the hammer guys into the frog pit first. If you can pull both into the pit they will do 50% or more to the frog alone
  • Finally throw lightsaber is going to be your best damage on this boss, particularly if you can get the lightsaber to hit on the way forward and the way back.

When I beat him on grandmaster I didn't even have the other two stances yet, so I don't really have any strategies for those stances (blaster stance might make him simpler)

This boss, and especially the Force Tear fight Fractured History where you fight both original Oggdo and his daddy, are best done after you have all 12 stims, Blaster stance skills maxed, all the Force Essences that add Force capacity, the Perk Slots maxed, and the Perks that increase Blaster damage and saber damage after Blaster shots.

I know some hate the thought of a Jedi using a Blaster, but the thing once it's capacity is maxed and the extra damage skill is bought makes it a great weapon against tough bosses. A charged shot will stun them enough to get in saber strikes to fill it's ammo, and can thwart tongue and pounce attacks even if he's turned red.

This is on Jedi Knight, but it's a common tactic on the hardest modes too. These technically can be done without Slow on Jedi Knight, but it helps a lot, especially on JM/GM.

I'm on a JM NG+ run now, and my only problem thus far has been the Vader fight as Cere. Personally I'll take Oggdo and even both him and his dad over Vader, as you are limited to 4 stims and no Slow or Blaster when fighting as Cere.
