Game Crashes on Launch

is anyone else having an issue where it will display the title screen and then immediately crash? Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have tried...
restarting the game
restarting steam
restarting EA
restarting my pc
updating GPU drivers
updating Windows
disabling antivirus
closing everything possible but the game
clearing my temp files
clearing the EA cache
verifying the integrity of my files
running as admin
running from install folder (and as admin)
clearing DirectX Shader cache

i tried using the "-dx11" command in the launch commands tab, but it just forces the game to stay open and ♥♥♥♥♥ up my computer than makes EA crash.

-dx12 command does nothing
-d3d2 command does nothing
-d3d11 causes my screen to freak out and makes my pc unusable. do not use this.

I preloaded and unpacked the game. I thought that this may have caused an issue, so i uninstalled and redownloaded the game. Upon launching, it still crashes after the title screen. I will wait for the day one patch, but if it proceeds to crash after that, then i'm going to refund this piece of garbage.

I'm not sure if this will work for you but I was having the crash on start up and this fixed it for me. Make sure all windows updates are done and installed as well as the graphics driver updates. The next thing I did was go to the system settings and go to the storage settings. Find the temporary files (might have to click on see more categories) and delete at least directx shader cache files. I deleted all the recommended temporary files but I believe this is the one that makes the difference. After that i restarted and was able to launch the game.

thanks, but none of that worked. it still crashes after the title screen.

This is a fix which might work - launch the game via EA instead of steam. it worked for me

What are your pc specs? Is there anything else you've tried?

I have done everything possible in the past 2 hours and nothing! At this point the only thing im thinking of trying is refunding.

For me I needed to download amd GPU drivers and it stoped crashing but now it's stuck on a black screen

for anyone whos having fps issues, game crashing, Pc crashing, etc from playing this game in 2024 I may have a solution for you. I spent 7-8 months dealing with survivor crashing and found this unofficial patch https://www.nexusmods.com/starwarsjedisurvivor/mods/236 . Name of the mod is Ultra Plus Unnofficial Hotfix and Better Graphics. I could not get the game to work at all, after installing this mod, i've been able to play with good fps, no stutters really and great performance overall. Definitely try it out
