game is freezing

game is freezing around the start of the second mission. can someone help or tell me why it keeps freezing? it wont unfreeze once its frozen

Due to another thread, it's been discovered that setting the games priority to "high" (not real time, I do not recommend doing that) seems to fix any freezing issues I and many others have had.

I've been playing for several hours now and the only hiccup I had was a 2-3 second stutter when loading a new large region on Koboh. Beyond that, my experience has been relatively smooth ignoring regular performance issues since my hardware isn't top of the line or anything.

Hopefully this solution works for everyone else here experiencing freezing issues.

I tried it and I was able to get past one part but now i just freeze even faster upon progressing a bit further. literally like 5 seconds after i load in, koboh is just an unoptimized piece of ♥♥♥♥

Mine freezes when you open the chest at the bottom of the valley when you crash land the Mantis on the 2nd mission.

same problem on Koboh, in first location after first save.Game always freezing,and cant do nothing.Guys any ideas how to solve problem?

I run it via the EA launcher as it was 25 euro's cheaper than on steam but you can clear the game cache in steam or EA launcher and i managed to get quite far until it started freezing again.
I run an RTX 3070 and notice the game keeps turning the AMD fidelity crap on and ray tracing, disabling each every game launch lowers the freezing but eventually it will freeze and the music stays on.

I managed to fix it myself so far. (Knock on wood) I run it via EA Origin as well. Specs for anyone curious:
Intel I5 6600k
EVGA RTX 2070
Corsair 16GB Ram
Running on an ASUS 27" 1440p monitor

-I repaired/verified the game files first, no fix.
-Turned off AMD FidelityFX (game looks like crap without it, turned it back on.)
-Lowered resolution to 1920x1080
-Turned on VSync
-FOV set to wider
-Motion blur, film grain, chromatif aberration turned off
-Camera Shake, ambient camera sway set to 0
-Ran in Compatibility Mode for Windows 7
-Set game to high priority in task manager.
-Go into game files, run as administrator.

So far I've been playing for about an hour or two without any hiccups. Hopefully this helps until this is patched. Had a similar problem with Fallen Order.

I get quite a lot of freezing, usually during cutscenes but also some time when a new section "loads" or on some events (going to a new region). So far it never happened on coruscant but seems pretty regular on Kobbo. I will try the trick of putting the game priority to high (for those that dont know, you can do it from the task manager: ctrl+alt+delete -> right click on the star wars survivor task). For cutscene issues i have been able to avoid the issue by keeping Cal still right before the cutscene starts and waiting a few minutes. My gutfeel is that this allows the game to preload the cutscene, which is why it doesn't freeze.

Idem, je freeze sur le 1er checkpoint de Kobo. Réellement un soucis avec une animation d'oiseaux peu importe le paramétrage graphique. Impossible de continuer l'aventure. Need un fix Plz !!!

Once I got to the settlement on Koboh it was game over for me. I could deal with the frame drops up until that point, but now it just freezes forcing me to shut the game down after a few minutes of gameplay and no matter how low I make the settings it still freezes.

Spoke too soon - once I get to the settlement, nothing helps. It freezes instantly upon cutscenes or loading in. Can hardly get the game to even launch without freezing and crashing now.

Yea.. I tried fast traveling away to the start of koboh. Was able to get a little further. Now outside the town I can't even rest fast enough to fast travel before my game freezes..

I freeze in any area after the first meditation location on Koboh. I literally cannot play the first level after Coruscant. The fact that they started developing the game in 2019 makes it all more irritating.

So far putting it to high priority worked perfectly to stop any freeze. None in the last 2 hours when i used to get one every 30 min or so. Here is the complete procedure:
Start the game -> press ctrl+alt+del -> open Task Manager -> in the processes, right click on star wars survivor -> go to details -> right click on jedisurvivor -> set priority -> high

I can confirm high priority stopped my freezing too, played three hours since I switched it and no freeze/crash
