Steam Achievements Are Not Unlocking
I've seen others mention this as well. I have unlocked 4 achievements so far (according to the EA app) but on Steam it has yet to show them. I'd imagine this will get solved in the coming days, but this is just another needless issue

Thanks for this post. I'll wait until they patch it then or just refund it... second option seems to be overall the better option. :AW_Crying:

Might be the same deal that the Mass Effect Legendary Edition is experiencing (needing to do stuff like this, https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2935989297). To pretty much play the Mass Effect Legendary Edition and get achievements unlocking, you need to put a few workarounds to prevent the EA app from installing and still use Origin. EA have even been actively battling against people trying to use the workarounds to force them to the crappy EA App.

Well I recently redownload Battlefront 2 and unlocked all remaining achievements on both Steam and EA app. I hadn’t played in years or realized Origin was updated to EA. So when I started BF II on steam, it loaded up and unlocked all the old achievements I once unlocked through Origin. I don’t know why it wouldn’t be working for this game (if it is indeed software related conflicts)

I mean the gameplay is fun and if you enjoyed Fallen Order I’m sure this is worth the buy. I’m not refunding because I want to experience the story but this launch is a massive disappointment. All of us here seem to be having the same issues.

I can’t blame wanting to refund it however. Cuz it’s definitely outrageous that they are charging $70 for a game that is in shambles at launch

Somewhat related question: Do you have to buy the game twice then if you have the game through the EA App and you want Steam Achievements? Or can you just launch it as a non-Steam game through Steam and it will give you the achievements as long as your running Origin?

I got the game through the AMD Rewards but it only gave an EA App code not Steam unfortunately.

Unfortunately it sounds like you’d have to buy through Steam.

I bought through Steam but it forces you to link to EA, which then prompts the EA app to read and understand that you own it through Steam. Similar to how Origin was as well but this is apparently supposed to be better?? EA shows that it’s Steam owned but it only works that way I believe.

you can't.
idk if they changed anything, but previously you could sync your achievements with origin
so when the game inevitably comes to ea play you will be able to migrate them to steam. Probably the only way. Will still have to pay for ea play of course.

Ahh ok. Well that's unfortunate. Thanks for clarifying it for me though!

achievements didn't work for fallen order either

The issue I've seen, the achievements aren't progressing or unlocking while playing the game but upon quiting the game and starting it back up, some achievements will be completed. Example: I'm over 10 hours into the game and I've spoken to the cantina owner on Koboh (trying to make this spoiler free). There's an achievement for it which I did not receive when I spoke to said owner. After playing a few more hours, quiting to take a break and then restarting the game, that achievement has been unlocked. None of the achievements have any progress towards them, such as kill 50 enemies in slow time, or whatever. However, I'm sure it will unlock once I've actually done it. It would be nice to see the progress though.

Runtwer the issue is already resolved, EA told they knew about it yesterday and that they were working on it and a few hours later, it was fixed.

It happens sometimes with new games, personally I don´t notice it much, since I don´t care about them, they are pointless to me.

When EA began to republish their games on Steam and add achievements to their older games on Steam there was a delay in the achievements registering on the Steam client, sometimes up to 72 hours before they would activate. It was the way that the two clients communicated with each other, just keep playing and they'll be there eventually.

Make sure that you are logged into the EA app, before you launch the game. It's the EA app that gets the chevo first and then sends it to Steam.
