By the way I just created a thread about this at the EA forums Jedi Technical. If any of you are board or get time you can post a comment there so it at least gets eyes. I linked this thread there as well.

If this is only happening on 40 series cards, then it looks like a possible driver issue to me. However, there are other people with other cards reporting crashes here.

Just because people get the same error message, doesn't mean it's caused by the same thing. It all depends whether people with non 40 series cards get crashes under the exact same circumstance.

i can confirm i'm getting the same error on a 7900xtx (i actually replied to that ea thread)

I think I have found a possibile solution deleting the GPU cache.

Go to C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache and delete all the files inside the folder.

Some files cannot be deleted and it is ok, just delete all the files you can.

This solution is not permanenet. When the error pop ups again, repeat this process.

For AMD GPU I don't know where the cache is.

Your games won't crash because of deleting DxCache folder. You only deleted the shader cache, which will be regenerated once you play games. When you first open games they might stutter a little bit, but stutters must go away after shader cache files are created. It by no means should cause game crashes.

There is no need to worry about it, there is nothing wrong about your system. Next time, don't delete things you don't know much about and you'll be good to go.

Edit: If there indeed are game crashes, problem is somewhere else, not the dxcache folder.

Have you tried uninstalling it and telling EA to shove it for releasing yet, another Star Wars game in a FUBAR'd state? (Ofc, that's not including the NON-Star Wars related games they've done the same with in the last decade)

Can we just revoke their Star Wars license and give it to someone who can do something right with it?

I actually finally have my first set of crashes except i get into the game fine and load the shaders but after hitting continue on the main screen it crashes, this started happening right after i installed the latest windows 11 DEV build update so curious as to if they did something or at least "tried" to do something new in this update

The thing I notice is that my game began to crash every 5 minute after 1-2 hours of "normal play", literally I coudn't do 10 steps ahead of the saving point that the game crashed.

After I cleaned the gpu cash, the game stopped to crash frequently and I could "play normally" again.

Turning off vsync and ray tracing fixed my problem
HeroIV. May 7, 2023 @ 2:56pm
So the final solution is to limit FPS to 55 in the C:\Users\YOURUSRENAME\AppData\Local\SwGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini (FrameRateLimit=55.000000) and do not use Ray Tracing. Nothing else. You can try higher but 57 still crashes. You can also use G-Sync and turn off V-Sync but apply it to windowed and fullscreen. Monitor frequency does not affect crashing.

I'll try this. It's funny, I only have the game from purchasing an AMD processor, and it doesn't launch directly from the EA launcher but does launch from Steam...

Turning off ray tracing fixed it temporarily for me and then it happened again when I returned to koboh from jedah. This is so ridiculous. 4090 i9 13900k and I can't even play it.

For anyone with startup crashes, this works for me:

Launch the game and DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING until the game finishes the intro and goes into "optimizing game files".

And i do mean ANYTHING, don't move the mouse, don't touch the controller, don't alt-tab to the game if it launched in the back...

Seems to work at least for me..

I'm pretty sure there was a Game-Ready driver released for this game.
Haahahahahahahaaha no that makes no fckn difference. It's just a cheap excuse. Idk why ppl believe that crap

AMD let's you clear the cache over control panel normally.

I have this crash and error since yesterday... It was working perfectly before the weekend.
My GPU is 7900 XTX. I have it undervolted but it happens also when I set stock settings.
It really appeared out of nowhere.
