In moments like this I'm glad I have PS5, almost every UE4 game plays like crap.
In final moments I made the decision to go with PS5 version and ordered it, because initial idea was to get it on steam, seems like that was best decision.
I'm not going through Callisto Protocol situation again, I kinda care too much about Star Wars to subject myself to that suffering with this game.

It's horrible but yes. People ask why a Series X and PC... because of the absolute joke of releases like this on PC.

Review copies are not dev builds from months ago, especially when they release 2 days before the game. Those are pretty finished builds and to think a day 1 patch will magically solve shader comp stutters and improve fps by 20...you have to be very naive.
This is why you should never pre-order. But it's your cash so...

Those review copies are not 2 days old, they are most probably a few weeks old. This of it this way. By the time they decide who is getting the review copies, to sending them out, the downloading of the game and the playing and editing from the reviewers, to posting on Youtube. NOT 2 DAYS!

Also they are sent out in such a bad way for a reason, I won't go into because you wouldn't believe me anyway. Nearly every game in the last 2 years I have played on day one I have never run across the bad performance issues that was reported by the pre-launch reviews.

They would simply not send out fully optimised game for reviewers to play, because they are also using them to QA test them. Do you really think they are not collecting data from the reviewers, that are playing on such varied builds from what the devs are playing on. Not to mention that nearly every title that comes out these days has a driver update for the GPU's, that the reviewers are not going to have.

Just something to think about and to consider.
Would be nice if day 1 patch and gpu driver update fix the performance. lol

I won't fanboy this as I will happily return the game within the 2 hour window I have to return it, that is why I had no issue pre-ordering.

That said how in the hell can anyone know how this plays out till you know, it is out? Hogwarts was an mess for me until I downloaded a mod and fixed some settings and then the damn thing looked better and I had better fps. I will hold off and judge for myself and watch everything from fps to temps, if I get close to 2 hours and it sucks I will stop and wait a day or two. If there is no patch or remedy then return for full purchase, no harm no foul.

It's been a trend, I would be surprised if a EA game break it. Day 1 patch to fix the performance? Pffft.

Hogwarts is worse now than it was on launch. I brute forced that game with my 4090… ran terribly on my 3090ti rig. It still stutters a little on my 4090 rig, but we’ll over 100fps, so very playable. This is at 4K with frame generation, dlss, and with Ray tracing enabled with max settings. Tried the same settings on my 3090ti and was stuttering with 40-60fps lol.

I bought a PS5 so I could play Final Fantasy 16 and to a lesser extent God of War Ragnarok. I didn't realize it was going to give me so much extra mileage while the gaming industry reverts to the 90s in its treatment of PC ports.
Kain Mightyena 26 abr. 2023 às 21:48
After the last of us people are NOT going to show this game any mercy if the PC port is as bad as reviewers are saying. I think its well deserved, im so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tired of these horrid abominations these lazy devs call PC ports and thinking $7000 4090 I9 13900k PCs are the norm.

It was all good and credible until this part. Even you don't believe this deluded sentence.

They still get patched, einstein. Listen to any reviewers and they'll tell you they've been patching the game in recent week and it still (so far) has issues.

Just something to think about while you cope. Not sure why you think they're sending reviewers an older build that can't be patched/updated in todays modern internet age. You seriously think their copy differs? They don't.

Still crap after all updates as of 02/12/2023. Bad stutter on my i9 10900K, 64GB Ram and a 4090. Just another minimum-viable-effort PC port by EA despite decent FPS. That company just needs to die and sell off its IP to someone more competent and less evil.
