Let's wait and see how the day 1 patch works. It is clear that the performance that is being seen in the videos is not normal and will surely be solved.
I think it says a lot in favor of Respawn that they have allowed game reviews two days before its release. Other developers would not have allowed analytics until later from the exit of the game.

Ahhh yes the mythical day 1 patch lol. Yeah they definitely got round to fixing fallen order after all these years didn't they?

i never had a problem with fallen order even with mods

Developers are border line scamming PC customers at this point. It should be illegal to charge full price for a product that has serious issues and barely works. This is like the 10th release in the past 6-12 months that has stuttering issues and frame drops. I personally think it's a marketing tactic at this point because they know if a customer has a next generation console and have already brought it on PC and are fed up with the performance that they're likely to purchase another copy on console just to be able to play the game without issues. They're making double the money so why would they put any effort into making a working PC version of the game? Either way developers continue to disrespect PC players and it shouldn't be acceptable.

It's not supposed to be much better on the PS5. Not quite as bad as on the PC at the moment, but there should also be a decent drop in fps

I've been playing it again recently and have had no performance issues.

AMD Sponsored trash game forces 100GB of useless HD texture pack with UE4's crap broken texture streaming system, as usual.

2070 is bare minimum to play the game at 1080p60, so that is no surprise. Try it on Med/Med low if you want it at 60fps at 1440p or higher.

Trivia: I played Fallen Order originally on a 770... WAY under specs and I had to lower settings... and the performance was consistent enough to work for me. It's the performance drops that affect people the most, but there are those who insist it must be faster than 240 fps (slight exaggeration) to enjoy.

As I always do, I work with what I got rather than wishing for what I don't have.

I'm also careful with my workstations. I don't overload them with crud. I don't burden them with useless apps (except stupid required launchers, but all the more reason to keep running apps to a minimum). I never use admin except to install things I know I want to install. I research. I keep a firm grip on my workstations' settings. I don't let the OS do things without my knowledge and, when possible, only by my permission.

Too many people are relying on the computers to handle everything for them and end up with bloated systems struggling to do the simplest things because they let their computers get crowded with stuff.

More trivia: Back when Microsoft Store was introduced in Windows (called Windows Store back then), Microsoft Solitaire Collection (called Microsoft Solitaire in the store back then) would run all the time even when never launched, and it comes with basic installations of Windows and nearly every feature update. First thing I remove with every installation and feature update. Don't care if it doesn't do that anymore.

Keep an eye on what your system is doing. Don't expect everything to be done for you because you won't get to decide what gets done to you. Optimizing your system is all on you.

How important is framerate to load the map on the ship? Are you flying? Are you fighting? Are you quicktiming? Are you in a time-sensitive situation?

If they had to pick a spot to gloss over optimization to focus on something else, that would be a good place to do it.

So funny Milliions of players already bought this game and millions more will do so. Millions will play and have an incredible experience. So sorry for your personal problems.

I have tried to get this game running at 1440p with my 3d work pc that has 4090 i9 64gb ddr5 ram, soo real beast. And it just cant do it on max settings 1440p with ray tracing and dlss. Whatever i do i cant get stable 60fps. On 1080p it cab but it is 4090. On my other PCs with weaker specs its even worse. This game on max settings with ray tracing and dlss on 1440p with 4090 just touches 50+ish fps.

Fextralife review on PC and... oh boy. Looks REALLY bad to us :steamsad:
I'm pretty sure Denuvo is 80% to blame for this.

I really hope that the day 1 patch fixes at least a good part of the optimization on PC.

That game at least had decent performance. Respawn choose Unreal because they're more familiar with it than Frostbite.
