I assume (might be a wrong assumption) that if you play on a 4k monitor, then you have a high mid tier or high tier card and not too old, then in most cases, you will have more than 8gb vram.
But for the vast majority of people that play 1080p still, 8 gb will be more than enough, no matter your settings.
1440p will most likely be just fine with 8gb vram as well.
95% of all games need more than 8gb vram, including many AAA titles.
The big issue is when you play 4k. I reckon that if you play 4k, you don´t have a x60 or x70 card, but rather something higher and then you have more vram.
One thing I have noticed, is that console games that are ported (like this one) seems to have less optimization and sometimes issues at the start of releases, that means it will use much more vram, than it should..
That is a developer issue, not a GPU issue.
A PS5 use shared ram for system and GPU, something a PC does not.
A PS5 is not a multi tool like a PC, it is a family entertainment system.
As for the graphically standards, the console games have many graphical aspects that are missing compared to the PC. If you tried to run a console version on a PC you would get better performance, since the lack of many things, often people don´t really notice them too much however.
Upgrade your damn dinosaurs.
Specs are just innacurate, DEAD SPACE remake had the same thing a 1070 for MINIMUM and i was able to run that game on HIGH on my GTX 1660 SUPER without issues at 60 FPS.
Also it's UE4 not UE5 so it shouldn't be that hard to run... it's the same engine that SW JFO also used and that game WAY LOWER system requirements.
Wow, people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the $70 tag and now keeping their PCs current.
The devs behind CP if they didn't want to put in the work to optimize their game that's their problem not ours as consumers.
Also i played JFO back when i had a GTX 950 - 2 GB and could play that game on MAX setting easily. I heard it had some optimization issues but i never experienced anything too bad.
Believe me UE4 is WAY LESS demanding than UE5.
Look at some games like Immortals of Aveum or LOTR GOLLUM at their requirements.
Immortals is on UE5, LOTR GOLLUM i'm not sure but considering they are asking a 3060 for minimum i'd say it's also on UE5.
I played on a gtx1060 3gb.Constant freezing despite buttery smooth 50+fps on max settings. The problem is I guess shader compilation. It seems to be absolutely random. It was installed on WD blue with 150mb/s average read/write speed, but hell this is a linear singleplayer game so it can't be just that
IK UE5 is a heck of a lot more demanding that UE4 due to lumen & nanite,BUT both LOTR gollum & Immortals of Aveum have pretty mediocre graphics judging by the trailers & screenshots. Not even close to say A plague tale:requiem or Forbidden West.UE4 games can be demanding as fck too(or just badly optimized).Look at Ark survival evolved for example.Drops to as low as 20fps on my 1060 on "epic" settings on the Aberration map.
I'm more worried about VRAM consumption than the actual GPU performance since games started eating LARGE amounts of video memory for no reason.TLOU port consues up to 8gb in 1080p yet the textures look sorta low res
