Performance after Patch 5
Well... afraid I have to join the disgruntled ones... After a good playthrough with reasonable performance (I was in the lower 40's upper 30's on epic with a i7 7700k and 1080TU), I started my 2nd playthrough, same reasonable performance. Then patch 5 hit and... getting 20-30 fps with not having touched any settings. Looks like catering to recent hardware, which is understandable : I would be really pissed off too if my 30xx/40xx rig would run as ♥♥♥♥. IF performance is good now on those cards, have not bothered reading comments. Well, at least I had ONE pretty good playthrough and a half :) Still, just finished 2nd playthough in new game +... Still a great great game!

yep under patch 5 30 fps
i have one of the fastest systems on the planet and iits 30 fps now
when game opening its slow as hell
shudders and freezes

where before on patch 4
smooth as sugar 100 fps plus
so its about
60 percent slower on a 5ghz intel system with gtx1080ti and fastest cut down windows 10 you can get from team os hong kong tech group

request patch 6 they do do some real programming
and sort out the speed problem by hand coding the slow parts of the game code
its hard work to do that
a lot of hours to speed up the slow code

i recon they never do it hey

they have no idea i bet
easy to see no testing done on patchs

now boys research

hand code s;low parts of code
this is the only fix to your speed problem

Big improvement for me. Just not everywhere in the game. For the first time since release im seeing GPU usage of up to 90% resulting in 80 to 90 FPS where 55 to 60 FPS used to be the best ive seen before. There are still some sections of Koboh where i drop down to 40 FPS at times but overall performance is hugely better than before the latest patch. With the four previous patches ive noticed no recognizable improvements at all. Ryzen 7 3700x , RTX 4080 at 3440x1440

it would cost millions of dollars to hand code it faster
our only hope of getting back the fast version is the piratebay version now

Currently in the Lucrehulk in the swamp. From the second meditation point seemed to be better getting 90-100 fps initially. Previous patch was getting 70-85 roughly and quite steady.

But no, worse than it ever has been for me.

After unlocking the shortcut to where the nomads have set up camp frame rate is dropping to low 40's and watching the rolling frametime graph with MSI Afterburner there are random odd spikes. These spikes have no rhyme or reason to them, you can be fighting enemies and getting a steadier frame rate but at times nothing going on and it can tank.

Also noticed the stuttering and hitching is now back worse than ever - didn't have too much trouble with it previously as it usually only happened with scene transitions like going through a crevice into a new area or coming out of a cutscene. Running down a small hallway with a single window and not much else around following Bode stuttering like crazy.

Frame rate is jumping around so erratically it caused an ocular migraine where you get a blurry spot on your vision (both eyes) with a kaleidoscope rainbow effect round the edges. This is something that hasn't happened to me in years now so will have to leave alone until they drop the next patch.

I don't see any fps changes (4090, i13900)
But the most crucial thing for me is the fact that I am getting crashed on every planet, especially Jedha.
They still did not fix it.

This patch no good just like the Last one. Fps still poor in major areas. Indoors and semi open areas I am hitting 30 on high settings. Leaving this game for now. Will come back after 1 month

That's so terrible though. 40 FPS on a 1200 dollar 4080 GPU...? It's nice to hope and feel good but jesus that's horrible.

Got all the achievements 2 days ago. No crashes, no errors in 58 hours. GPU was GTX 1080. Yesterday I bought RTX 4070ti and tried to launch the game - it crashes to desktop. Just after patch 5. No other game behaves like this. So it is the latest patch that broke it

The silo by the thorny balls in Koboh was a massive frame drop for me before and now is fine so it seems it has fixed something, at least for me.

Seems you were experiencing the lower internal resolution/quality bug when setting to anything but EPIC as "graphic quality" Why your frames were high.. But it was low quality. But yeah 30 is not good. Sry to hear that.

I have finished the game some time ago but patched it went hunting for last few bounties to see how the game runs.

It seems I have gotten few FPS, around 5 but it varies depending on places, for general game play. The stutter is still there but I do not think it got better or worse.

The patch, however, introduced new visual glitches and significant texture pop-in and flickering in certain areas. I assume this is Respan's attempt to improve data loading but it is not working properly as areas with different depths indoors now have a lot of texture pop-ins and white flicker when I look around.

I tried with Ray tracing off and now it runs so much better...i think that RT is still broken in this game.

My specs: i7 8700k - 16gb ddr4 - RTX 2070

To be honest, you have no business running games with RT enabled with that spec. You should still get decent FPS on appropriate resolution and quality settings with your setup.

Funny thing is the game works better with RT enabled for me since it is crashing without it.
