Pretty sure this game runs at 30fps on a console...
The performance mode on PS5, hold 55-60fps in spots, that made my PC dive to 20fps.
I also gave up on the PC version, and started all over on the PS5.
And with VRR on my OLED, it feels so much smoother.
Sure, it's not perfect on console either, but nowhere near as broken as the PC version.
Until the developers start making better PC ports again, I'll stick to console for now.
I do not know how to display FPS, but it runs on low details and is playable. Before May 10th patch, the game freezed a lot (had to kill it in task manager), but now it seems to be ok although I got a few freezes after the patch too. No freeze for several days now.
I also tried it on a faster machine (ASUS TUF Dash F15 FX517ZM), has run it at max video settings, playable. Again, do not know the FPS.
As of patch 5 - game still runs terribly on all platforms compared to most games - and there are plenty of videos on YT demonstrating this for each and every one of them.
Take care not to pay too much attention to cherry picked scenarios trying to push an agenda. Hardware Unboxed have done some pretty lousy benchmark videos, for instance - as has that cringey frame-rate obsessed guy whose channel I don't remember what's called. They seem to completely ignore or omit the actual problem areas - even though it's pointed out to them again and again.
Sadly, for whatever reason, some people on social media feel the need to push their views - instead of just being thorough and showing the issues for what they are.
As for crashes, that's harder to say for sure. I've had exactly one crash on PC (around 20 hrs of playtime using EA Play version) - but that was early on Jedha - and I've since started over. Others seem to have a variety of experiences with crashes on PC, and I don't know if consoles have them as well.
While PS5 will run better than low-end PC hardware in terms of overall performance, you should keep in mind that the resolution and image quality are both quite terrible, especially in Performance mode. The degree to which this is a problem is obviously highly subjective - and if you're the kind of player who likes to kick back 6 feet from your TV and just immerse yourself, then it's most likely not a problem.
If you have high-end hardware, however, there's no competition at all. PC is vastly superior in every way - but it STILL suffers from stuttering and FPS drops here and there.
I recently upgraded my CPU to a 7800x3D - and I have a 4090 GPU. With everything maxed out and RT in 4K - I still get stuttering here and there, but it's relatively smooth for the most part.
Of course, that's not saying much considering the investment I had to make for that rig, but still.
If you use the DLSS3/FG mod (which now also supports DLSS2) - then the game will FEEL significantly smoother, even though there will still be minor FPS drops in the most demanding areas. Beyond that, you'll also have VASTLY superior image quality when compared to PS5. Side-by-side, those two would look an entire generation apart, at least.
Using that mod, my worst FPS drop is when entering the bar in Koboh (I think) - and that drops to around 95-100 from an otherwise almost constant 120 (LG CX max RF rate). The only reason I notice that stutter is because I obsess over frames using MSI Afterburner.
Just playing without any kind of measurement with the DLSS3 mod and top-tier hardware, the game can be considered smooth and it looks very good as well.
But anything below that and you'll most definitely have to compromise in some way to get a smooth experience (disabling RT would be an obvious choice on PC).
to me i would never buy console version if i have pc option. game runs fine for me 60-90 fps all high 2k resolution. i got a good pc though. if you prefer pc just get it on pc and if you have technical problems refund.
Specs?
At least it’s not a stuttering mess on console.
