Yeah well I don't think they're that different afterall, while Jedi Knight has its roots in a FPS it has very detailed melee sword combat on top of that, compared to falled order level design is somewhat similiar, platforming with force powers, little puzzles, slicing through storm troopers.. Something like KOTOR is inherently different..
And maybe its just me, but seeing the first Fallen Order gameplay gave me off strong Jedi Knight vibes, maybe thats were the dissapointentment comes from
I rather not.
Also, it doesn't look like you HAVE spent any money on Jedi Survivor.
however Jedi Knight is not, the classificiation as FPS comes solely from the perspective in the first chapters and the fact you can pick up any ranged weapon and use it yourself,
otherwise the difference is superficial, Jedi Knight is much closer in terms of gameplay to Fallen order then it is to half life,
you have platforming sequences that you overcome with force powers, you get more powerful powers as the game progresses,
you discover new combat stances with the light saber etc, you customize your lightsaber, you throw your light saber in both games by using right mouse button etc, theyre not inherently different but very comparable
tbh, fallen order/survivor is actually even inspired by the jedi knight series
Also the main character in JK2 was much more entertaining.
I’m glad Survivor is a sequel to Fallen Order, but I’d love to see a remake trilogy of the Kyle Katarn games. Especially Jedi Knight.
He became a jedi without any training. And he defeated Desann, a dark jedi that Luke couldn't defeat.
He defeated the Dark Forces project all by himself.(Despite this fact that 5 or 6 of the Dark Troopers could easily wipe out a rebel base)
Oh, and he stole the death star plans all by himself.
Disney copied the first part of Kyle Katarn's story for Finn.(An imperial stormtrooper that turns rebel) but they decided to turn Finn into a side kick and an unnecessary character after that.
There is a difference tho,
Kyle Katarn was always force sensitive which made him a powerful soldier by himself,
before he fought Desann he came a long way, and Qu Rahn tought him to use the force and to fight with the light saber,
not to mention he is a powerful individual even without it,
while Mary Sue wasn't a elite soldier before hand and became able to defeat a sith by merely picking up a light saber
