Console review: I give it a 7/10 average review. Nothing out of the ordinary.
I just wanted to share what I thought about the game on next gen console and in general.
Put in about 15 hours, and I would sum it up as: "Identical to Fallen Order but bigger".
This game is basically Fallen Order but expanded, retaining the same flaws and advantages.

A. NEGATIVES

1. The combat system:
The combat system is the same, and it's not satisfying like it wasn't in FO. Your lightsaber is still bouncing around in what is essentially a parry souls game. Lots of enemies also spam a red attack which can often be an insta-kill (Rancor, etc). Basically, the combat is "OK", but it feels unsatisfying for a Jedi game. The Dark Souls combat just isn't what suits a Jedi game, the Jedi Knight franchise nailed it better.

2. Performance:
Performance is acceptable enough for me to run through the entire game. HOWEVER there are noticeable frame drops/lagging in certain cutscenes and combat, which just shows that devs made a poor optimisation, and this is unacceptable on next gen hardware where better looking games perform 100% without lag.

3. Graphics:
This ties into performance issues. For this level of FPS and performance, this game looks last gen. Don't get me wrong, there are some cute and beautiful landscapes (I'll get to that later), but this game looks like a kind of rough EA cheap kind of game (menus, graphics, etc). Like they just didn't iron this out.

4. Story:
The story feels like massive "deus ex machina". In Fallen Order, you were basically involved in the prequels and sequel trilogy. Here, they decide to create an entirely new adventure for you based on the Disney "High Republic" lore. Frankly...I didn't feel like I gave a S about the story. They pull out this universe out of their backpocket and tell you to care. And you're doing all this while...the original trilogy is about to happen and Vader & Emperor are killing Jedi? It just didn't feel as gripping as the first game. Let me give you the setting as its not even a spoiler: "Cal Kestis randomly goes to a backwater planet (Kobboh) and TOTALLY RANDOMLY finds HIGH REPUBLIC LORE on that planet". The setting is also garbage, you're basically playing Rancher or American Far West Jedi, you're on that planet exploring the backcountry. Its just uninteresting and lackluster. It might captivate the 10-15 year old kids currently into SW, but not most people. Most of the characters are garbage for children, the overweight nice woman, the old wise grandpa Alien, etc. The FEEL is very much like the sequel trilogy (force awakens) if you remember that film. It's clear this is a DISNEY storyline. If you like that, fine.

5. The overall gameplay loop.
Remember that annoying tomb raider platforming from the first game? Well this game could be called Tomb Raider 2 because its this X10000. You are basically dropped on ONE massive planet, and expected to explore and jump and climb around. Just like those new tomb raider games. It just doesn't feel like this is what a Jedi game should be about. I know the first game was like that, but I feel I need to mention it. It's basically a playstation/console gameplay loop for children. Jump and climb around. Instead of focus on visceral lightsaber combat.

6. Tiny nitpicks
- The Fallen Order map was ****. Guess what they innovated and brought back the same map which is unreadable and un-navigable.
- The side characters accompanying you: They often hamper your combat and get in your way, getting you killed or just being annoyances. One main character is literally Buzz Lightyear flying around with his Jetpack shooting enemies. I get that this might amuse 10 years old, but it won't amuse an adult.

B. POSITIVES

1. It's Fallen Order but bigger:
- The levels are simply more massive. You could say the main planet is a kind of open world. And the vistas and exploration is great. Though it does look like Arizona or the Mid West, which can be not exotic and boring to people. Its not the Jungles of Kashyk or the Ice cold hell of Hoth. It's just the American mid west.
- More lightsaber stances: Adding twin blades and others is cool.

C. CONCLUSION

My conclusion is that if you liked the stupid and simple gameplay of Fallen Order, if you were totally satisfied by Fallen Order, you will be very happy by Jedi Survivor. Its Fallen Order but bigger and with more exploration and platforming.

However, if you found Fallen Order lackluster, you should not buy Jedi Survivor as its basically NOT doing anything new or mindblowing to change the formula of the first game.

Also if you're a mature person (even if you're a teen) and expect an intriguing Star Wars story and lore...Don't. You are getting Disney Star Wars. Cute little Aliens. Goody goody feelings. You're not getting riveting Sith Lords and brutal Lightsaber combat.

The performance issues make the game unacceptable to many people but I decided to look sideways and judge the game on its own merit: I give it a 7/10 (which could be a 6/10) for a complete lack of innovation by Respawn. It's your run of the mill EA/Ubisoft type of game. If you look for mindless action, this is the game for you.

I doubt I'll buy a third opus in this trilogy.
