Trying to play this completely breaks my PC
So I just bought this and I've been testing this for last 3 hours. What happens is the game starts up and I am in the the very first area. Everything seems normal and I have decent FPS. I start walking and within 1 to 2 mins the game completely crashes and restarts my PC. After this I reopen the game and suddenly I have a game breaking stuttering from even the start menu and it runs at 10 fps once I'm back in. It's like the cpu is not being utilised at all.

Seems strange so I test other games and lo and behold all my other games are doing this game breaking stuttering. Every. Game. From the start menus and everything. It's mind blowing. Restarting my PC and closing all programs does not fix this. Every game is broken.

I have figured out the only way to get everything back to normal is reinstall the latest nvidia driver with a clean install and all games start working like normal again. So I start up Jedi Survivor and once again it crashes my PC within 1 to 2 mins and hard resets. Stuttering starts again.

Now I'm making this thread because I believe this isn't a common bug and probably something that can be fixed.

Anyone got any ideas?

that's not good. smells like driver bug. you should share this information with nvidia too. make sure to include your specs. so they can try to reproduce it.

I would suggest using DDU, its a free to use very common program to completely remove any trace of drivers from your system.
You start up the pc in "safe mode" and select Nvidia in the program, then clear it all, restart and install the latest drivers.

See if that helps you out.

A corrupted drive happens, use DDU to reinstall like suggested.

Some reports have been mixed showing alright performance after the patches which is why I’ve only tried now. I honestly haven’t seen that many reports of completely game breaking, and in my case pc breaking, crashes just 1 minute into game play.
Seems more of an issue with my setup as opposed to the game in my case.

I’m gonna keep trying different things cause I loved the first game and it honestly looks like it’s running okay for the 1-2 mins it actually runs,

I'm in a similar boat as you but my crashes don't mess up the rest of my programs like that.

But I may have some advice for you. A buddy told me there's a keyboard shortcut to reset your graphics drivers, Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B. I never really used it because it didn't seem like it helped my problem, but it kinda sounds like it may help your issue, at least recovering from the crash. Your screen(s) will go dark for a second then everything comes back on normally.

I haven't even made it to the Senator's Yacht on Coruscant, game keeps crashing, out of memory exception. 5800x and 4080

I've the same issue too. Only I made it past Coruscant somehow and now my game crashes constantly in the next area. I experienced constant crashes while in that beginning area too. You should see my other post, I just put it up minutes ago.

Maybe try some of the things I tried. It's been known to work for a lot of other people but none worked for me.

But my specs are RTX 3060 (12 VRAM), Ryzen 5 3600 (6 Core), and 16GB RAM
