Thanks, Its more stable after few patches, for me doesn't even crash that much if you're willing to turn Ray Tracing off / which seems to help more people /, Iam playing with RT on except some parts of Jedha.....
I hope you'll have great fun ;)
Iam running RTX 4090 / set to 4K Epic settings without FSR / and still dropping to 40ties on Koboh sometimes, most of the time its well above 60 / 80
Heck the slingshot to specific hooking points is borderline archaic.....
I mean its fine, sure, but nothing to get that excited about....I think The Force Unleashed was a far more impressive game, even today.
For now I'll have to make do with Diablo 4, which I'm having a lot of fun with.
The only thing I have a major issue with is the fact they haven't fixed the broken bounty system yet. That's such an easy fix to adjust the triggers for the rumors given by Caij.
Keeping me from the final achievements sadge.
Obviously not good that the performance has been an issue for many players but I'd like to remind people who's to blame here. Respawn makes amazing games and I find it highly unlikely they would purposefully release a game before it's ready if they weren't pressured by their Publisher - EA.
is it? I would compare it to star fox adventures, Zelda games in general, mass effect, gameplay no more interesting that Prince of Persia Sands of time etc.
and I have no idea what you are talking about with a feeling.
Gathering people to live on Koboh is just such an oldschool and honestly forced mechanic, gathering fish, planting crap on the roof....yeah riveting stuff....
but whatever, if you like you you like it, but after 20+ years of gaming....this is just meh, its fine, but literally not special in any way shape or form.
There are still transversal stutters while exploring. FPS dips from its normal 70ish to like 30ish, then back up, as I move through the world into new areas. Apparently there's nothing that can be done about this, but I have actually gotten used to it somewhat, and it doesn't really affect combat. Only when moving and exploring.
Other than the above performance issues, I think Respawn absolutely nailed everything else about this game. They took what was good about Fallen Order and improved upon it and added new stuff to it. The Jedi combat is really, really fun and engaging. The best it's ever been done, IMO. And the zones are extremely well-designed. I am having difficulty stopping playing it. Best game I've played in a long time.
This game borrows aspects from a lot of others games, like the Souls series, Hollow Knight-style platforming, Metroidvania's/Zelda, and seamlessly meshes it all together.
I blame EA for the performance issues. They probably pressured Respawn into rushing its release. But otherwise, Respawn has knocked it out of the park and created a real gem here, IMO.
It's not for you to decide if he's having fun
The statues and sculptures on Jedha, just to give an example, the natural phenomena, these planets devastated by cataclysms and battles, by new excavations and vicissitudes, the remains of different civilizations one above the other, the clashes between different factions, certain climaxes of the story with 50-meter-high robots that... and no spoilers... the game is sometimes breathtaking: let's say it like it is! Statues 100 meters high imprisoned in the mountain, ruined bridges at skyscrapers height, architecture and sculpture inspired by the best examples of human history... I agree with you, and this was just a few examples, we could go on for hours, hours.
I don't think I'm as expert as you, there are many holes in my videogamer life, but I have about thirty years between now and my first video game, and star Wars Jedi: Survivor in some ways a really great video game.
On the other hand, in this sense, there are very many of us who have a good opinion of it, and I sometimes like not being part of a small group destined to be right 20 years later, when it doesn't matter anymore, and the world has gone for another. way!
Of course, the technical difficulties that many of us (me too) ran into even with fairly robust machines (mine included) dampened our enthusiasm a bit.
However, this your post is decisive and courageous, and I at least feel like sharing it with equal determination.
