Things get incredibly clunky when you have 3 melee dudes all attacking asynchronously and a couple ranged asynchronously shooting you. Even if you approach that scenario in the best way, sometimes the enemy doesn't die in the same amount of hits like the previous 12 of the exact same type did and then it chains into a ridiculous amount of damage. You did nothing wrong, the position of the model just shifted that last hair and one swing missed because you weren't literally whispering into its ass with your lightsaber or, like you say, the finisher doesn't finish them. Dodging one swing means dodging into another. Force powers are somewhat inconsistent with targeting, which leads you down this path occasionally too.
