DONT BUY, DONT NORMALIZE 70$
Title. Literally, ♥♥♥♥ EA.

Don't say crap like 'The development costs increased' All the companies whom are price hiking it to 70 or even more, are multi billion dollar companies, whom turn over massive profits by putting micro transactions in almost every aspect of their games nowadays. Don't even get me started about the lying, greedy corporation 'Electronic Arts'

EA pulled in revenue of $5.956 billion, which is up 8% year-over-year. they dont need to charge extra for their games when they dont even put that ♥♥♥♥ back in the game money of effort wise. If they did games would be broken trash like anthem and its not like the devs get anymore money.

This daft argument you have no counter for. You need to start paying for their actual time and effort. Who knows, maybe gaming will become a luxury of the rich. I'm not worried.

I just gave you the counter. You're comparing prices of digital computer games to cartridge based console games. The cartridges were a big part of the cost. You could pick up computer games on tape for £2-£3. That's twice I've pointed that out now.

So you countered an argument I never made. Nice imagination. I never delineated between digital or physical. I threw them all in the same boat. English is easy if you stay in the lines and not try and read between. We've been underpaying for decades. It's about time games are going up in price. Maybe now we'll get some great ones since we may actually get what we pay for.

Yeah, for sure. I really liked Fallen Order. Enough so that I'd likely buy this game shortly after release (once I see reviews confirming it isn't a dumpster fire) at full retail price.

But full retail is $60. I'm not going to pay $70.
Turtle / Eli 20 MAR 2023 a las 19:55
It does suck that games are becoming more expensive to buy...as long as these starting prices still get people to buy and the companies making dough, it's kinda a losing battle. If I'm to pay these kind of prices, I'd expect developers to do a decent job with their games, but to me that is often not the case and to have a decent amount of content to keep me busy.

They don't like the truth that we have been under paying for decades. Games were $60 in the 80's. Still $60 in the 2020's while games have consistently gotten better looking and larger in scale. I'd like to know what they would really like to charge. They are not getting close to compensated for their time and effort.

^He has no idea about development.
^He has no idea about how games are made these days, with engines ready to go.
^He has no idea about how easy it is today to build an infrastructure compared to the nightmare it was 10-15 years ago.
^He has no idea how automation works, cutting time and costs in ways that people were dreaming in the '00.

Yet he is boasting his ignoramus and being proud of it. It's like a dark comedy lmao.

I pointed out that the foundation of your argument isn't at all valid. You cherry picked expensive cartridge based console games and ignored the far far cheaper tape based computer games.

Also the media cost difference and the massive explosion of the customer base.

hey fun fact respawn ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hates microtransactions.
ie titanfall 2, the only thing you can purchase is cosmetics that dont affect gameplay (unlike apex (but thats different)) in fact they even released titanfall2 between COD and BATTLEFIELD. however it still got peoples attention in a good way.
were there microtransactions in Fallen order? no.
just because a parent companie likes to do something does not mean the studio needs to add something they dont like.

Good Day to you my kind sir

I guess it is hard for you to go trough the process it self and just ramble to cry in a forum for how much it costs.
Development it self is expensive I see you don't want to believe it so if by any miracle you could get it for 5 $.
Just going for packing, distribution, marketing across the world, translation and wages for the team that sits for days and weeks so it can make a product you can enjoy (which you don't respect by the looks of it).
This is a triple A category game, making it with a collaborative efforts of not a single or small team.
So instead of whining here support games and studios which you like don't rip em off by finding a pirate copy. Even buying the promotion pack would be better.

Tell me you have absolutely zero clue about modern day software development and costs, without telling me you have no clue about software dev and costs in 2020s.

"Packing and distribution" takes the cake lmao.

Ignoramus maximum but with access to a forum lmao.

Weird Potato 26 MAR 2023 a las 19:04
It's $90 plus tax is Canada. They can get f!@#d. I'll wait till it's 50% off or more in a few months.
Turtle / Eli 26 MAR 2023 a las 20:17

It isn't about the money, it's about sending a message. When the discounted $70 game becomes a discounted $60 game I will buy it if it is reviewed well
