Pentagram over head

I may be missing something but it's not really clear why the pentagram appears over a sinner's head. I played with my friends and it just gave us away to the Matriarch every time.

Hey, the pentagram is only supposed to be visible (and the report function available) when a sinner is in the matriarch's view outside of the activity areas, this is to give the matriarch the power to punish an obvious sinner without having to wait until the end of the day. Did it happen in other situations? If yes that sounds like a bug

Not really sure what an activity area is but it happened on several occasions. In the area I spawned and near the trap door.
